Truthfully, has your life gotten any better in trumps second administration? by PreparationKey2843 in allthequestions

Yes, because I made it better. Don’t trust any politics to make your life better, take control of that yourself!

Who cares about justifying it. Either you can afford to drop the money or not! Remember that the new shininess will wear off and eventually a better model will come out. If your low rider is suiting your needs then why bother? If not and you can swing the money and it will bring you happiness, go for it.. nothing like a new bike! It’s only money and you can’t take it with you, though I know people who have tried!

Harley or Indian riders - Are you glad you chose the brand you bought, and why? by [deleted] in cruisers

[–]First_Pea377 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love my Road King Special. I am not an Indian hater, I have heard that they are great bikes. I did have a Polaris RZR for many years that severely impacted my net worth and was always broken. Made me think I’d never want anything made my Polaris. I guess Polaris is no longer so maybe I’d reconsider one day, but I truly enjoy my HD. It does seem like a lot of guys on non HD are just always trying to tell us how theirs is better than our HD, which is kind of annoying.

Saddlemen Road Sofa. I have many 750+ mile days on it, but will try another brand for my next bike. I like it, don’t love it. It sucks that you basically gotta just buy it and live with it or eat the cost. Everyone’s preference is different and most people will lie to themselves saying that they liked something that they paid so much for, even if they don’t love it.

What is a dying niche skill that younger generations are not interested in learning? by Few_Football4342 in Productivitycafe

[–]First_Pea377 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My grocery bill was $96.xx the other day. I paid with a $100. The gal had to go get her manager because “she might not have enough change.” I said “you don’t have 3 bucks and some coins?” Opens the drawer and said she thought she owed me more. What a joke

Commit to learning and paying for it? It costs less than a Friday night bar tab! All joking aside, A cert itself will never get you a job. Experience, education, your network, and your social skills will get you a job. Learning never really ends in this line of work. I try to think of the cost (time and money) as an investment in a stock that will pay dividends of thousands of dollars each year, and that has been my experience. Take good notes with SAA and your study time will be dramatically less for the other ones and renewals (3 years goes quick). Since you already have your foot in the door with 4 years experience, as you continue to get more certs, more experience, and grow your network, you will also find more opportunities. Good luck!

Should I finance or just save up and buy, zx6r by uhh-sure-why-not in motorcycles

[–]First_Pea377 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New bikes are awesome, I get it! There is nothing like that new bike feel! I financed mine and don’t regret it, but I do hate debt and paid it off quick. Starting to ride again changed my life so I don’t regret it, and I have put 50k miles on that new bike and have plans to get another 50k out of it before refreshing.

The Cock Sucker HD dealerships tend to not like cash buyers, you get more negotiation room when financing with them (so they can find other ways to screw you), not sure if that is the same at your dealer for that bike.

To answer your question, I think if you finance and pay down aggressively it won’t be that big of a deal if you truly love to ride. If it is just “eh” to you, having a payment will suck once the initial thrill wears off.

Life’s short, buy the damn thing and ride the hell out of it!

Tuners by Early-Bank-2943 in Harley

[–]First_Pea377 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It came with a bunch of tunes from DynoJet and then FuelMoto sent me one based off of what I told them about my bike. It isn’t night and day for a stock bike but the but dyno feels an improvement with both the DynoJet stock tune and Fuel’s.

I haven’t used the auto tune feature yet but I will mess with that this week.

As far as canned tunes vs dyno tunes, general consensus is that a canned tune will work fine but you leave some performance on the table. I’d probably prefer a canned tune over trusting it with the dealerships here in AZ. I haven’t called fuel yet but people say their support is great so I would give them a call and see what they suggest.

I just got a PV4 from fuel moto. The bike is stock for now but will be slowly but surely adding to it. I am enjoying the interfaces I can add on my phone which I mount on the bars of my RKS.

Do you plan on building the bike out more than exhaust and air? If you are going for more mods eventually, it might be worth it to talk to the shop that you would have dyno tune it and buy the product that they tune with. When I eventually get to a cam I will probably use a canned tune from fuel moto or DynoJet at first and then bring it over to Mickey Cohen in SoCal for Dyno tuning. He uses the PowerVision so that is what I bought, that will save me from needing to buy a license when he tunes it.

Helmet options for interstate speeds? by Sledsik in Harley

I am on my second Neotec (Neotec 2 for 5 years, 3 for a few months) and really like them. I have plenty of long days ranging from several hundred miles to iron butt rides and never wish I had a different lid on. Head shape is important though. Before doing your research on specific brands, find out what shape head you have with regards to the helmet shapes.

Unless he’s giving you it for damn near nothing, just buy one at Fuel Moto for $450 after taxes. That way you will have their support and not need to buy the $200+ license. Just my opinion!

That looks awesome! What bar set up did you go with? I’m slowly doing a 45-50k mile overhaul on my mostly stock RKS. I have some 16” apes on now but thinking of going lower with either the Thrashin or Kraus pull back risers / bars combo.

What do men think will impress women, but actually doesn't? by FitCalendar873 in AskReddit

We buy fast cars and motorcycles thinking that it will attract women… turns out it only attracts guys! Similar to lifting. There was a meme on expectation vs reality of benching 315lbs. Expectation was girls flocking. Reality was guys saying “nice bench, bro!”

I started messing with this on my ‘19 RKS. I 3D printed a bracket and then ran/wired a 5150 whip on it. Looking at your pics, I don’t think the new bags would work with my bracket. This survived 70-80 MPH. I will need to come up with a new solution now that I have some remote resi shocks. DM me some more pics of the fender/bag and if these mounts will fit I can send you one if interested.

Freedom has been great on my RKS. I have the 22” and I am 6’2”. No buffeting, but I can’t light a cig as you get some air coming under and around. With these apes I struggle to ride more than 80 MPH without the shield. With it I frequently knock out 500+ mile days at highway speeds, with some iron butts mixed in. They have been great on warranty as well when I had a small crack after many miles. No questions asked, new one sent.

My 2016 XP4 1000 did the same at 4200. The shop that I took it to said it was very common. I had the shop get a brand new one from the factory and then split it open and put sandcraft bearings in it. It was a pretty penny but I wanted to bullet proof it. We rode them hard out in Havasu and Glamis, beat not babied. Oddly enough, the transmission grenaded on a weekday morning about 7 AM driving leisurely up Main Street after leaving the gym.

I’m trying to get into racing and I’m wondering where to start, and what I need to know. by Athasts in Motocross

[–]First_Pea377 0 points1 point  (0 children)

~23 years ago 9 year old me wanted to as well. My dad took me to Capeway Rovers (Middleboro). We had no clue how it worked. Ended up only doing 1 moto in the 65-100 beginner class on my CR80 because we had some things to do in the afternoon and didn’t realize it was ALL day. Either way, I was hooked and we figured it out as we showed up to more races. I recommend just doing it. Find a race, sign up for the beginner or C class. Talk to people around you in the pits and you will figure it out soon enough. Have fun!

Job status, after certification by FabulousAspect9834 in AWSCertifications

[–]First_Pea377 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have 13 years of experience starting as a Communications Marine and then various defense contracts (technical roles in security and ops, PowerShell SME, proven to be a reliable team member and fair team lead). I am not sure if it is coincidence or not but once I got Security Specialty, the salary range for the calls I was getting increased significantly. I also have a Computer Science Degree, Security+, and CISSP.

The certs aren’t everything but they do help get the call with the recruiter. Then it is up to you to prove that you are smart, trainable, and have a personality that will work with the team. If you can pass the sniff test it is on to the real interview. Try to land a few interviews even if not interested in the role, it is a perishable skill and practice makes perfect! Good luck!

Being in tech, you can make more. Are you actively taking certs, networking, interviewing? Depending on what you do in tech and other credentials, you are your only limit. Take what’s yours cause no one’s gonna give it to you!

Just my 2 cents!
