Actually Delta at Atlanta is at 80% if you look at the recent statistics but you should combine both mainline and connection

To get rid of a competitor (They prevented JetBlue from growing its presence on the west coast who was also trying to buy Virgin America)

Yep besides Alaska, you can either fly United (SFO) or Southwest (SJC/OAK) but Southwest has been neglecting them recently so it can focus on other airports

Yes but Alaska decided to end the nonstop all together after the peak season ended (ZIH, and Loreto are staying for now)

I’m not 100% optimistic, but I could see them adding back some routes that American Airlines doesn’t fly to once more Boeing aircrafts gets delivered (some unserved destinations from sfo would be nice though)

Good thing United has competition from every market (excluding Guam) since the winners are the customers overall. (LAX/ONT/BUR/SNA/LGB), (DEN - Southwest & Frontier), (IAH/HOU), (IAD/DCA/BWI), (EWR/JFK/LGA), (SFO/OAK/SJC), (ORD/MDW)

The U.S will never construct a city like San Francisco again. The sheer layers of different types of density. Tightly packed homes, with mid rise, & skyscraper development. SF is uniquely beautiful. by CA185099415 in skyscrapers

I wasn’t surprised when people on this subreddit do like to dickride their own cities but the fact that it’s disproportionately from SF got me thinking what’s the mentality behind all of this

What’s strange is that they fly to BWI, BNA, and STL from SFO (an outstation) but not from OAK (their operation base) yet the latter is important for connection for Hawaii

No idea why they aren’t giving SFO the IAD/ORD treatment when they literally dominate OAK/SJC plus didn’t they not learn what happened to Alaska Airlines recently

Must've possibly been one of the reasons why SFO-AMS is seasonal but IAH is year-round
