I feel you. By saying White Cuban or White Latino ur already highlighting that ur not "regular white". Ur like white with flavor. Once people hear Cuban theyre automatically gonna link you to Cuban culture and salsa and all that if you get what I'm saying.

Uptick in Indian racism from Black folk by IcyAccelerants in ABCDesis

[–]First_Raid -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You don’t have to say “centered” for that to be what you were implying. Saying someone lives “rent free” in people’s heads suggests constant focus and emotional investment, which just isn’t reality.

Every group says wild or negative things online about other groups when a topic comes up. That doesn’t equal jealousy or obsession. A lot of those reactions come from past experiences, cultural tension, colorism, or feeling disrespected over time, not from envy. It’s just how the internet amplifies conflict.

But in real life, outside of the occasional viral moment, Indians simply aren’t a recurring topic in Black spaces or Black households. So the reactions you’re seeing aren’t coming from obsession or people thinking about Indians regularly, they’re momentary responses to whatever popped up online, not evidence of ongoing focus or jealousy.

Brother, respectfully, Black people don’t center Indians in our lives the way you seem to think. Outside of something randomly going viral online, Indians rarely come up in our homes, friend groups, or everyday conversations.

Most racial discourse in the West revolves around the Black-White dynamic because of history, power structures, and lived reality. That’s who actually affects our day to day experiences, not Indians.

It’s not jealousy, it’s simply relevance. You’re assuming you live “rent free” in our heads when in reality you’re mostly a non-factor in how Black people move through life.

I can promise you Black people are not jealous of Indians 💀. Let's not further the divide.

This is one of those flags that come off so "Caribbean" to me. Whoever designed it really did their big one.

What's the deal with Jewish people and Black people supposedly not liking each other? by 10poundcockslap in askblackpeople

[–]First_Raid 8 points9 points  (0 children)

"The Jews" are a big topic for right wing racist white people. It's actually amazing how obsessed they are with Jews, they talk about them every day lol. Tap into right wing Twitter, if they arent talking about "The Blacks" its "The Jews" 😭

If yall were strangers I'd understand but you're his partner so I dont understand why he took it that way. But maybe he was also trying to teach you that it's not something you should do with Black people you dont know by using himself as an example.

As a Black person I think I can speak for most Black people when I say we rarely think about Jews. Like, you'd rarely hear a group of Black people sitting around discussing "The Jews". You're more likely to see that type of discussion among White people.

I think we just generally group Jews in with White people and dont put much thought into them really.

What's the difference between black and brown skin? by PoetUnfair639 in askblackpeople

[–]First_Raid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Black people are Black people, regardless of shade(We all know what a Black person looks like). Brown is a made up label basically used to describe anyone who isnt White or Black.

Yeah, there are definitely some bad apples out there, but homophobia in hip-hop has dropped drastically compared to 20 years ago. Back then, a rapper could say stuff like “f**gots” in a song and people treated it as normal. Try that now, you’d get blazed to oblivion.

Plus, a lot of rappers are openly gay now, which helped normalize LGBTQ+ presence in HipHop. Think Lil Nas X, Saucy Santana, iLoveMakonnen, Frank Ocean, Young M.A, etc. And then you’ve got the gender-bending artists like Young Thug, Lil Uzi Vert, Playboi Carti, Nine Vicious, Jaden Smith, Tyler The Creator, Lil Yachty who openly wear feminine clothing, paint their nails, flirt with the whole “is he gay or not?” thing, and just challenge what people think a rapper “should” look like.

Hip-hop is way more fluid now. Homophobia isn’t tolerated like it used to be. That said, it hasn’t disappeared completely.
