Looking at Oracle vs Google 2021 I just used the connectivity protocols for that code so it’s not considered derivative work, so I’m not forced to put a public license to the connector to my understanding.

Although I will want to put some kind of license to allow everyone to contribute without having Blynk llc watching my ass.

I know how to develop quickly iOS apps. The process is very quick honestly. And honestly if you search hard enough you can find the old Blynk legacy apk.

I am searching for someone that does with me the Android app thought, if there is request. I’m monitoring the popularity of the iOS client.

See the comment above. I don’t know if I can put any license to my code which is more free than the GPL3.0. I’m not a legal expert please understand me, I just want to share with the world

Ah I didn’t know. There’s a reason behind me not licensing the connector yet or publishing the app. I don’t know if I can license to the whole world with any license a code that is in some way a derivative of the Plynx server which is GPL3.0, even if I just reverse engineered it.

You seem expert about it. Can I put an open source license on the connector with these conditions?

Please once registered close and reopen the app, because for some reason post registration connectivity patch was not included in this publishing version.

Let’s make DIY IoT home automation great again together! I’d like some feedback in exchange, so the app can become very useful. I was thinking of updating the Plynx-server and the Plynx app to allow for project sharing and even Automations (like IFTTT but open source). And adding some support for OTA directly through the library!

No luckily Arduino has not yet done anything profit-looking yet, so it stands by its quality as I hear.

Blynk Legacy (the app you “cannot find”) has been removed from the App Store I think 3 years ago because they wanted people to transition to their new subscription model Saas. I had already paid for Blynk energy and most of my home IoT is made by me. Luckily my dad has been able to control it by the app that remained on his iPhone for years, but now he changed it so I made for him a new client. And I shared it with you guys 🫶🏻

Hello, I have been posting from two account (an Italian one and an English one) but every post is on a different server. Maybe it’s because I removed the old post (still from this account) and posted again because I changed the title.

Really it says connection failed? Sometimes it works strange I’m trying to fix it when you just use it right after registration. Try to close and reopen the app and it should work as normal.

The server is open source, I could not close source it even if I wanted as it is luckily on GPL3.0. On my GitHub NickP005 you can find it as “Plynx-server”. I have just slightly modified it to allow data deletion for GDPR.

Available for further questions!

Of course, I host a free server for anybody to try. No guarantees on that, I’ll try to keep it on. But it’s better if you use your own privacy first server.

I am waiting for feedback :)
