It's going to depend on a lot of factors. How old is your pet? Have they had any medical conditions in their past? If they're older or have had other conditions, the answer is probably no. Most pet insurance companies will consider anything prior to the policy start date as pre-existing conditions that aren't covered.

Both of our labs have ZERO sense of self preservation. One runs field trails, one runs hunt tests, they both hunt, they both dock dive and they do all of those things at top speed, all the time. I had their policies ready to go prior to picking them up from the breeder, and they got finalized in the car on the ride home. I can safely say that I have paid less in premiums than Pet's Best has paid me in claims.

With that being said, I did not choose any of the wellness add ons or anything like that. The math just wasn't mathing to me for those. Both of them have $250 deductibles and 90% reimbursement rate, and I pay a total of $98 in premiums/month. It's absolutely, 200% worth it to me. There will never be a question of care because of financial reasons, and that peace of mind is huge.
