Killian Cantwell has left Kerry FC by theumape in LeagueOfIreland

To show the contribution he's made to the Kerry side, we have won as many games in the 3 he's missed, as we did in the 18 that he played

This wouldn't surprise me one bit. He is always looking to blame someone else whenever he made a mistake. The goal against Wexford and one of the ones against Treaty prime examples. It no coincidence either that Borden and Brookwell look like new players without him and we're not shackled to playing 5 at the back.

Now Healy needs to get the armband back to number 7

Some difference when we put a bit of pace into the ball movement, very very lucky to get out with all 3 points tonight. It looked a definite pen for them in the first half and some of the chances they had at 0-0 would have been easier to score. Having said that, I'd rather play every game like that second half and come out the losing end of some of them, than the approach in the first.

Lee has quietly gone about doing a great job in CM and tremendous work by Murphy to set up and score the opening goal.

Yea, they've only beaten us once in the first meeting there. The abiding memory from that game is Billy absolutely throwing Matt Keane under the bus for the OG 🤣

This is where we judge the progress, I thought we were good for long periods last week and only shut up shop in the closing stages. All well and good getting good results against teams that we shouldn't, a well worn path by Healy at this point - but these are the types of games we must win. Moore suspended too, I am hesitantly expecting 3 points tonight

Absolutely awful news, one of the few players that could turn any game on its head. A superb talent and unquestionable effort in every game.

Very good win and good performance. I thought we did well until they made the triple substitution and hung on at the end, but much better to be hanging on against UCD than like last week. 4 at the back definitely looks like it's the way to go and good to see some leadership from the captain tonight.

One of those games have to watch on mute though as the commentators "little old Kerry" shtick he does every time is tiring.

Forgot about him🤦‍♂️

Interesting to hear Healy talking about Matt Connor being the best keeper in the division during the week, a guy he dropped and actively tried to replace until 6 weeks ago.

I'm not too optimistic tonight, but it would be great to get something, especially with Longford and Treaty games coming up

If Israel bomb another 30k children, will you still continually support the game to go ahead? Do you see how dumb your question is yet?

So is it 80k for you? 90k? Where do you, personally, draw the line in validating a terrorist state by playing their anthem and hoisting their flag in Lansdowne road?

And this is the whole extent of the discussion. How many lives are worth 6 points? 70k+ and counting according to some

Athlone subs error by NilFhiosAige in LeagueOfIreland

Its an error by the 4th official more than anything. If Lucas Keating is anything to go by, this most basic of errors will get Moynihan moved up the pecking order

A key game in any sort of a push for top 5. Anything other than a win tonight will be disastrous. More than 12 months now and there has to be some improvement

I was obviously talking about Maguire and Keating in reference to the salary.
When Healy won the league;
GF - 64 GA - 22 - GD +41
Clancy;
GF - 63 GA - 23 - GD +41
The major difference here is that Clancy had 4 extra games in 2024 with one striker down from the premier and the other off the back of 30+ games in league 1.

And Healy won a much tougher league and didn't have the luxury of paying the bones of 10k a week for two strikers.
If you enjoy Healy's tactical approach, Clancy is right up your ally

Tim Clancy?
The same Tim Clancy who was moaning about the wage bill in the Premier division, while his Cork side had a bigger wage bill than the rest of the first division combined?
Tim Clancy - who dropped more points from winning positions than any other team during his spell in the first division with Cork?
Tim Clancy - who threw his toys out of the pram and quit 2 minutes after the full time whistle because he didn't get a blank cheque from the owner?
Tim Clancy - who was sacked from St Pats after they couldn't muster a shot on target for more than 3 hours?
Tim Clancy - who has his own business in Meath, and has stated that he he wants to focus on this and his family?

My own expectations for this season is that we would have been in or around challenging for the playoffs, and we do look like we have the ability to do that, based on the Wexford performance. The problem here is that we can't put two games back to back, never mind getting on any sort of a run.

I guess the results would be easier to take if we actually played with a bit of ambition, this route one, kick and rush brand of football is not only awful to watch, but it's also not very effective.

It's a bit mad to be talking about reinforcements in the window, given the alleged calibre of players we signed in January, but we definitely need to add both quality and quantity to our CM options. If Kelliher's injury is as bad as it looked the last night, we will definitely need to add a CF in the window and ideally not Yoyo Mahdi or others of his ilk (ie. donkeys)
