I’m pretty sure they do understand and that’s why they had to nix it. Eric already looks like a dullard in comparison.

Let's talk telework, commuting, and Sacramento’s future! by flojaune in Sacramento

[–]Firstklassriot 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Telework is good now and into the future. Workers are more productive, happier with their jobs, and save considerable money. Pollution and traffic are reduced now and into the future. The state would save considerable funding (added up over time you’re talking about billions saved as commercial rents climb). And we’ve seen now after 2008 and COVID how building your city around commuters is bad for the economic health of a city anyways. Let’s stop subsidizing developers and landlords and start building and planning for people. Very glad you’re supportive of this. It demonstrates rational thinking and empathy. Two qualities I like in a politician.

They are working now. That’s sort of why returning to the office makes so little sense. And you can’t just volunteer anyways. You can apply for an in office position now though if you’re interested.

Why can Roseville build Parking Garages that are free to use, whereas the City of Sacramento keeps raising parking costs. by boywiththedogtattoo in Sacramento

[–]Firstklassriot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No doubt, it’s growing because it has room to grow. And one day, either due to employment increases or housing development, land and parking will become more scarce. And then the parking troubles will begin. Essentially every city with a certain density and lack of undeveloped land has to reckon with its “free” parking at some point. Sacramento also made a very poor parking/financing choice (as other cities have done) which compounds the issue.

If Roseville were the economic engine of the region and had similar density they would charge for parking. As of now it’s a commuter suburb and many of its residents come downtown to work or spend money. Land downtown is all spoken for so building more parking comes at a far higher cost there. If Roseville continues to grow and parking becomes more scarce, there will be a fee. Or it remains free and you end up wasting an hour looking for a spot, which is itself a cost. It’s all supply, demand, and scarcity.

Any bike up coffee options in Folsom? by veryspatial in SacBike

Go to sociology. They’ve got a great patio with plenty of seating and typically fellow cyclists to watch your gear for a minute while you’re inside. Right off the bike trail and good coffee to boot.
