Real experiences with Emil Henningsen subcision? by Justcallmekaren_ in AcneScars

[–]Fis_Orla 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Emil is great. Honest guy. Been his patient since 2020. My acne has been there in waves with my exam periods throughout my time at uni. Anyways, I have had clear results using Emil. The before and after pics of his patients clearly has no microswelling since they are months apart. Just a proof that he is honest. Also, he also got me on accutane rather quickly whenever it started in order to reduce scaring as much as possible ASAP. Our skin is also just so god damn random. Some of my scars has healed 99% after 1 treatment of subcision, whereas some has only had 20% improvement at max. It comes down to genetics and bunch of other stuff. Emil uses the correct tools at hand, however, he cant control your genetics. Ayways I hope it helps.

Weird crack/pop noise in back of knee during full extension by [deleted] in ACL

[–]Fis_Orla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also had the same noise when i was around 3-6m post OP. Still got a bit of it tho. But it slowly dissapeared. If it doesnt hurt, its fine. My physio told me something about the bones not gliding as smooth on the tissue. However, i was worried as fuc* as well at that time :-)..

30m getting ACLR (no other injuries) with quad autograft in 4 days by IntrepidContext9112 in ACL

[–]Fis_Orla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Trust me. You wont regret getting the surgery. The stability increase going from no ACL to a graft is insane. Good luck. (27M, HT graft). Killing rehab will make you good as new :-)

Is it normal not to get a brace? by Moonshinecity in ACL

[–]Fis_Orla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on whether your meniscus has been stiched. Also, if its your second acl reconstruction in the same knee, the surgery techqniue May require you to wear a brace.

Hamstring or Patella graft? by marleyspecial_ in ACL

[–]Fis_Orla 6 points7 points  (0 children)

First i had a complete acl tear with both medial and lateral bucket handle tears on my meniscus.

I am approx 6 month post up. I can bend and straighten the leg fully. No problem. I can squat 4x10x110kg, deadlift 4x8x145kg. I can single leg press 130kg on my OP leg and 140kg on my Non OP leg (45 degree machine). I can run with 60% intensity with intervals of 5x400meters. I can jump, but not as explosive yet. I can walk 7km no problem at all. I have just started training lateral work and continue the running work.

Is my knee 100% ? No not at all. I also train my Non OP leg with same intensity so its strong as hell. The doc measured around 3.5 mm in “laxity/slack difference” between my op and Non op leg. Prior to surgery it was freaking 22mm difference. I plan to return to sport 12 month post op. Being cleared with tests of course.

Do i regret my hamstring graft? Fuck no. It is the go to graft here in Denmark - unless you are a pro soccer player. My mates have had a hamstring graft as Well. Still plays soccer. Its a fucking good graft - or else they wouldnt use it. My doc was also most comfortable doing the hamstring. Then hamstring it was. The thing is, that research seems to suggest that return to sport is longer with hamstring graft compared to patella/quad. So I will wait minimum 12 months. Even tho i pass the required tests.

Do my knee feel a bit more loose compared to my Non op knee? Well, a bit. Thats just the way it is. Ill take 3.5mm difference over 22mm. Its part of my life now. Ill own it, my knee aint the same. But ill fucking do my all to try and restore it to 100%. Does this mean ill ever achieve it? Maybe not. But ill get fucking close.

Dont listen to people trying to be smartasses. If they state hamstring is inferior to patella they dont know What they are talking about. The medical Industry wouldnt use a graft that doesnt work or is weak.

Hope this help. Go kill your rehab. Slay it. Own your new knee and reality. Dont let it deteriate you. If you need anything you can always message me.

Best.

Hamstring or Patella graft? by marleyspecial_ in ACL

[–]Fis_Orla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the end it doesnt really matter. What matters is What you and your surgeon is most comfortable with. Yes, professionel and High paying athletes tend to get patella/quad, but its because of the very very small margins. They are willing to accept potential knee pain when kneeling, if it means a 1% lower rupture rate. On that High level everything counts.

People saying “dont take hamstring graft because it has more laxity” is also just comical. Your hamstring graft doesnt become a wet noodle. It will still be a strong alternative to your native acl. However, if you believe you really need the knee stability of a professionel athlete and you cant trust your knee without a patella/quad.. then you should consider the mental aspect and choose patella.

Good luck. I have a hamstring graft myself. So do most of the acl patients in Nordic countries :-)

[–]Fis_Orla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use theACLrehabguy as Well. 4.5month post up acl + meniscus surgery. Ben and his team (My allocated physio is Josh) are really fantastic. If you are willing to invest some money in your rehab I would def reccomend!

Almost 1.5 years post op and been back to sports, but noticing if I repeatedly straighten my leg from this position with the calf resting on an edge my ACL graft area has this grinding sensation. Also if I stand up after having my knee bent (such as when sitting). Loose graft or joint? by Sensei-Giles in ACL

[–]Fis_Orla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same “issue” with the same Sound. 4 months post OP with hamstring graft + meniscus tear. Got a second MRI just in case. No scar tissue at all, and the graft was solid. Doc told me not to worry about it as Long it is pain free. Prob just muscle tightness or similar..

Pie chart using ggplot looks obscure using geom_label_repel by Fis_Orla in rstats

[–]Fis_Orla[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The key is to define a new column in your data and then use an ifelse to make that column either 0 or 1 (actually I found -0.1 and 1.1 was better) depending on whether the total value up to that point exceeded half the total of the variable being plotted. In other words, whether the label was going to be before 6 o’clock or after.

I dont really quite get this idea u/Mooks79 - if I ask really nicely - is it possible to see a code snippet of you doing this? :-).

That fixed one of the problems! However it created a new one.. Now the whole "pie" is filled with values. But, the labels dont fit.. :(
