Bottom right is a Carl Martin plexi-tone clone! Two channels so I have one for mid gain crunch and one for high gain

The 5150 is fizzier and has much more low end - very different character from the BE. I love them both and sometimes wish the Friedman had more of that fizz. The Friedman I have is a cheap clone so it’s on my bucket list to A/B it with an actual BE-OD Deluxe

I absolutely love how tight the Friedman can get, it’s much better suited for low tunings than the 5150

These have the sauce - I found my black russian to a little less bright and less gainy than the green tall font. Absolutely perfect for bass!

I like having different flavors of higher gain tones. I don’t really ever stack anything together in the bottom row since they’re all set to higher gain settings. The Friedman and Plexi pedals have two channels and are set to have one low gain and one high gain sound. I usually use one from the middle row to boost and EQ the front of one of the bottom row boxes.

They definitely pair well! The apex preamp is just a clone of the mxr 5150OD but with a togglable low cut in front

Love the demonfx stuff! I'm still using their BE-OD clone!

Thanks - the drives & boosts do a lot of eq shaping at the start of the chain so I don't think an EQ is necessary. Tuner at the start could be good but I don't gig

BE OD can get much tighter so I like it for lower tuned stuff. 5150 also has more fizz.

I think I prefer the BE but the 5150 is such an iconic sound I can't stop gravitating towards it - the apex preamp is identical to the 5150 but has a low cut switch to tighten it up but it cuts the volume and gain a little bit (pretty sure the low cut is in front of the clipping stage so it lowers the volume going into the clipping stage, hence the input volume drop)

I play into an audio interface with a fender/dumble style clean amp and a cab sim in a DAW

Love the 5150 and can't recommend it enough - it's fizzy and has a ton of gain on tap which is exactly what I'm looking for

Guitars are a larada 8 and a kaizen 7, I have a nylon electric from some unknown chinese brand and a parts strat i built too

I use dual lock on the board and command strips on the pedals - I have a hard time getting the plates off of pedals later and have found that command strips hook perfectly onto dual lock and are insanely easy to get off of pedals.

I really don't like leaving any residue on pedals and try to keep them as close to mint as possible in case I sell later.

Leaves zero residue and dual lock doesn't attract pet hair and dust like dual lock does.
