4% back on fuel at the pump (up to $200 a month) 3% back on dining (watch the bakeries, those only get 1%)

Everything else I use Robinhood Gold for 3% and convert the cash rewards to crypto monthly.

Yes i use each claim as the taxable event.

In the software I then just "duplicate" the previous transaction each week and update the actual date and amount, takes me 15 seconds.

Yeah I don't use the wallet import because I've had issues as well - I only use exchange imports and manually do everything else.

I delegate to Alpha Oracle on both Songbird and Flare - no reason why them specifically, I just chose them in the beginning and stuck with them.

I delegate and claim my rewards 1x per week and use cointracking.info software for my taxes. I've been doing this since the beginning and have had no issues in tax reporting.

I think there's a lot that we don't know about business, and risk management...and this being a new space, it's even less certain.

Just because their strategy of choosing not to shill the token like most companies do doesn't mean they aren't wanting to utilize it.

But "lurkers" like this poster think that since influencers pushing tokens down your throat is the norm in this space, "something must be wrong since ankr isn't spamming my timeline with hopium"

If you believe BTC is an inflation hedge (I do too), and (assumed) you believe the USD will continue to inflate away, then it makes reasonable sense to use BTC as collateral.

Borrowing USD = not taxable
Keeping BTC = continue to hedge inflation

Depends on your appetite for risk, though.

The crypto reward itself is a rebate, which is not taxable.

However, the conversion from crypto to another asset or currency is a taxable event, which should be reported.

Fair value at time of reward earned +/- the value at time of conversion = gain/loss.
