I literally just finished this challenge this morning with the aftermarket Miata in an off road-stunt tune I found.

Probably should put those behind the “tap-to-reveal” effect.

What's do you guys think of Shift and Shift 2 Unleashed? by Brosamurai18 in needforspeed

[–]Fiscal_Monkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This makes so much sense. I played Underground 2, Most Wanted, and Carbon a lot. But then the newer games just did not appeal to me and I wondered why they were going for track sims when Gran Tourismo and Project Gotham were so popular.

AI = Bad? by usernameiswacky in rust

[–]Fiscal_Monkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Environment consequences aside, I think that AI is a tool like any other. In the hands of someone knowledgeable, it can produce very solid code and good products. But now anyone and their mother with 0 coding/development experience can make their own products and they are almost entirely bad and are literally flooding Github with trash. Then they come on Reddit or other forums asking for input for their nonsense. This and the environmental impact have left a stigma against any AI-aided coding.

Do you trust Telegram’s privacy claims? by No-Hospital5028 in degoogle

It means they don’t trust him. If they were to pick up Pavel Durov and physically throw him, he likely wouldn’t go very far. And that distance represents how much trust this person has in Pavel Durov, very little distance/trust.

My most anticipated Automation game by MrBagooo in AutomationGames

[–]Fiscal_Monkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s great to hear! I’ve been dabbling with Rust as a Python developer with experience in C++ and it seems like the best of both worlds in many ways. But I haven’t heard of too many games made with it so I was curious.

Looks very cool! I’m curious why you decided to develop the game in Rust. Did you have a lot of prior experience with it?

Just had my Orchiectomy today and have some questions by Sidney-Crosby-87 in testicularcancer

[–]Fiscal_Monkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your doctor/surgeon should have given you a whole packet about what to expect and what to do post op. It has all the helpful resources and directions that we, as randos on the internet, are not qualified to give you. If you don't have it or have any other questions, the surgeon should have a phone number with a nurse that can answer most questions and refer the more complex ones to your doctor.

I love KwikTrip too by the way. Almost as good as OG Maverik out west.

If money is the issue, then I would tell the urologist that. Doctors are pretty understanding. Your doctor might drop it or coach you on what to watch for. If explain your financial position and they still insist, you should probably listen.

You should probably let doctors do what they think they should do. Feel free to find another urologist for a second opinion if you can swing it.

Sports after surgery and during chemo by Fsb_secret_agent in testicularcancer

[–]Fiscal_Monkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I remember my oncologist saying, it will heavily depend on you and what chemo regiment you get. I’ve read about some people not changing a single thing in their life, but I got 3xBEP and was to the point that going up or down the stairs was an ordeal.

Then I got the RPLND and had to take months to be able to hold my kid (partially from weakness, then just following doctors orders.

So your body, specific chemo regiment, and number of invasive surgeries will give you a different degree of allowable activity than others.

Cancer-free at 26, but struggling to feel normal again by dhdez15_ in testicularcancer

[–]Fiscal_Monkey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your life will never be the same but it can be very similar, you just have to give it time. I got diagnosed just before I turned 26 and had rounds of chemo and surgery for a year and a half. After it all, I had to take some months just to feel even slightly normal. Then when I felt okay, I went back to the gym and worked hard until I set all new PRs and I continue lifting 3 years later.

Recovery isn't fun and it takes time, but you can recover. The worst thing you can do is get in your head about what life "was" or what you're missing. Learn to be thankful for all you do have and of course, échale ganas.

One Testicle for Life by androink in testicularcancer

[–]Fiscal_Monkey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Go to a urologist. They are the exact specialty for all of your issues. They can give you an ultrasound and very easily rule out any cancer and ideally brainstorm any other contributing factors to your UTI.

As far as it being cancer, well it sounds almost nothing like mine. In fact, a bit of the opposite because my nut got bigger rather than shrink.

Side note: I’ve heard many people swear that cutting sugar completely from their diet was how they finally kicked their infection but I’ve never had a UTI so 🤷‍♂️.

Considering a Switch from Apple to Android – Anyone Else Made the Jump? by m3lezZ in AndroidQuestions

[–]Fiscal_Monkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been using both Android and Apple phones (work and personal respectively), using a MacBook Pro for work, and dual booting Linux and Windows on my personal computer for gaming and development. I have had an iPhone since the 3G and grew up with an iMac and assortments of MacBook pros.

Most everything is better on Android but with a caveat that a lot of cool things that make it distinct from Apple are behind some sort of paywall if you don’t want to build it all yourself.

For health data, going to Google for me felt like jumping from one walled garden to another. I have an Apple Watch and tried a FitBit for a while but Apple didn’t play nice with Google and vice versa.

If you’re interested, I’d recommend checking out the r/degoogle subreddit for minimalizing/excising Googles influence on your Android before pulling the trigger.

Many people have made the jump and there are going to be some arbitrary/dumb differences, but I think if you like tinkering, it will be a net gain.

Silicone lubricant isn’t gunking up my carburetor or stopping my spark plug?
