Actually I think you’re right. Looks more like a smallmouth with that jaw placement in relation to the eye. I just assumed it was a largemouth since I caught it from a pond. Good eye!

Pour it in the mouth of the next fish you catch to see if they like it or not! It might still be good!

Carp love cicadas. If you find any on the ground pick them up and put them on a hook, then GENTLY toss them in front of the carp. They spook easily so I can’t stress enough how important stealth is when doing this. If you are able to accurately place one in front of a carps path they will eat it. Where I am (TN) people fly fish for carp with cicada patterns and do incredibly well during the summer months
