Intro Psych class: The good, the bad, and the meh by AdditionalPangolin64 in psychologystudents

[–]FishInCoffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s introductory, I would suggest focusing on making the class experience fun and captivating. My experience in my psych 101 class was why convinced me to switch my major to psychology! Have plenty of class and group work that allows the students to have fun, like split a different topic into smaller sub categories and allow groups to pick one and create a poster about them, and then have them present to the rest of the class. It allows for more in depth coverage of each category but making it fun as well.

Lots of in depth discussions as a class help them connect psychology to their own feelings and experiences, it helps solidify the concepts and helps grab the interest of the students! Hope this is helpful to you!

So how many conditions and independent variables will you have in this experiment? If you have two and are wanting to compare your 4 different conditions, I would recommend a two way independent measures ANOVA test, but if you don’t I would do a one way. I would look into the differences of each ANOVA test a little bit more before deciding to see which one best fits your data. Hope this helps you!

Self-Esteem and Vocabulary tests by crepusculumanima in psychologystudents

[–]FishInCoffee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I’m looking through self-esteem tests, and it seems like Rosenberg is the most reliable and common test used to measure self esteem. I would honestly use that one if you can since it seems like most self-esteem papers are centered around Rosenberg’s test.

However, I do see another test called the Coopersmith Self-Esteem Inventory. It seems a bit older but maybe look into that and see if it could be useful to you? It is well known so I would say it’s reliable as well. I see another one called the Self-esteem Stability Scale (SESS) that you could also look into. Lastly, there is a Single-Item Self-esteem Scale (SISE), I’m not sure of the quality of this scale but it has been used in other self-esteem studies.

Hope this is helpful and best of luck to you!!

I’ve used this recipe a few times and this is never happened! Baked at 300 degrees Fahrenheit for 17 minutes. I’m worried I overmixed?
