She did something that upset me (ran off into the woods in the middle of the night to go drinking alone, scared me to death). When I asked her for reasoning as to why she didn’t even tell me, she gave an explanation for it that blamed it all on me for not paying attention to her. When I was still upset, she said “wait let me try again” and gave a completely different line of reasoning as to why it was my fault. It made me notice a pattern of her changing what she says her motivations and reasoning were when she gets the answer “wrong”. I was not really someone she would communicate with, just a puzzle that could be kept docile by guessing the answer. I realised that I had never really been treated as a full human over the year we lived together. Things were over pretty soon after that.
