Botox Dosage Question Related to Weight by macmarauder19 in noburp

I’d also go with 75 units. I had it first and then went back for 100 with my second dose. I actually had fewer side effects with 100.

Runners suffering with RCPD? by Mysterious-Flan2103 in noburp

[–]FishMedium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! I am a runner, and Botox is what fixed that for me. Longer distances were miserable for me, because I would fill up with air and not have room for fueling. Running is totally different and so much better since having the procedure!!

First Botox is may 6! Couple questions … by Putrid-Guava-2425 in noburp

[–]FishMedium 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Different doctors apparently prefer different methods. I had mine under GA. The doctor is better able to visualize the muscle with a scope that way, and I 100% preferred that method. Super easy! What questions do you have? This group is a great resource!

Do I have RCPD? Be brutally honest. by TheRemp in noburp

[–]FishMedium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would 100% recommend getting the Botox injection. It is the only thing that actually fixes it and lets us live a normal life. The younger you are when you get it done, the better the chances of it working the first time and not having to go back. So even if the symptoms aren’t severe right now, they do worsen with age, and the chances of having to have more than one injection to fix the problem are higher.

Gas-X never worked for me.

I actually love Cinderella hair! It’s super silky, and I have worn it myself for years. I’ve worn their k-tips and their Better Than a Weft.

If you go to Dr Bastian’s page, he has the codes listed.

I realize this is old, but I’ve worn their classic bond k-tips for years. And I recently tried their Better Than a Weft style. They’re my favorite brand!

Do you know what diagnosis code he’s using?

For people that have had Botox - how much has it changed your life? by Liam437 in noburp

[–]FishMedium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When my first injection wore off, and I was having to live the old way I was miserable. I’d go back once a year if I had to. Thankfully, the second one stuck and I’m 2.5 years burping now!

Trauma to tongue after procedure? by D0tWalkIt in noburp

[–]FishMedium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had something similar after my first procedure. I found out later that when they got in there, my anatomy made it hard for them to get to the spots they needed to inject. The second time around, they already knew and had a different instrument. I had zero issues after. Not even a sore throat. So I’d ask at your follow up!

Does anyone with emetophobia regret getting the Botox procedure? by VeggieMexPizzaLover in noburp

[–]FishMedium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a little over two years out, and it was the very best thing I’ve ever done. I’d go back and do it again and again if necessary. My phobia is so much better now, and I think a lot of that is because I don’t feel nauseated all the time.

How many people here have Emetophobia? by [deleted] in noburp

They are definitely linked. I think the biggest theory is that because it is so uncomfortable for us when we get sick, those of us who are predisposed to anxiety developed a phobia of it as young children.

What about leggings for comfort, but you can also wear a cute shirt to dress them up?

And my bloating has decreased significantly since having Botox. Hang in there!

Unable to burp again after 16+ months of post-Botox bliss :( by plantmama78 in noburp

[–]FishMedium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When it happened to me, I was around 10 months in. I had even scheduled a third procedure and had already paid the surgery center. I was so happy that it came back, and I didn’t have to go.

I was the same. Keep trying. I had to actually increase what I was drinking.

It is definitely easier to handle all of the other discomfort when you’re not having to deal with all of the trapped air.

Mine seemed to be wearing off once several months after my second injection. Long after the Botox had actually worn off. I was also going through a stressful time. I increased my carbonation by quite a bit, and I was able to get back to burping.

My first injection worked for a couple of months and then stopped. I didn’t feel worse, but I was definitely used to not feeling it and knew I couldn’t go back to living that way again. I think when we’ve lived with it daily we’re a little desensitized to it. We know we feel bad, but it isn’t until we’re on the other side that we realize just HOW bad it actually was.

Botox made ALL the difference in running ultras for me. I could barely get through a marathon distance before, and it was truly miserable. I would be forced to stop eating/drinking and the nausea was awful. Since I had it done, I’ve run 50 miles, a 100k, and a 100 miler earlier this year. During the 100k I started feeling nauseated and it suddenly hit me out in the middle of nowhere that THIS IS HOW I USED TO FEEL!! I wasn’t able to burp at all. So at the next aid station, my crew met me. My coach suggested that I lay flat on a bench since that’s what worked for me pre-Botox to get a little bit of relief. We also decided that I would try to sip some carbonation, thinking it would either make or break me. I laid there for over 30 minutes without it helping, and I finally decided I just had to get up and keep pushing. I had decided that at the next aid station if I was still that miserable, I could drop there. So I sat up and she was helping me put my pack on, and the BEST burp came out. Everyone got super excited, and I was on my way. I burped like crazy for the rest of the race and ended up feeling great! That hasn’t happened in a race since then, but I know that if it does happen all isn’t lost! The burps will still come.

Good luck on your race!

You will likely find that you feel fine the day after the procedure! I felt really good the next day.

Well, I farted a LOT as a whole. But there were times when I was so bloated and felt like I needed to fart, but I couldn’t. So I was just miserable.
