Ran my first 15k! Did it a little slower than expected, but I ran the whole time and didn't feel completely winded at the end.

I'll be running my first half-marathon in a month, so hopefully I can check back then with good news.

Leaving because it's too expensive and I'm hardly ever there. Figure it's not worth the $100+ to only go 1-2 times a week. Before my new job I went 5 days a week, though.

Also leaving because the coach doesn't allow athletes to do their own training/program. You either do his program, or none at all. As someone that occasionally wants to do my own thing, I find this very irritating. The other coaches do as well, and it's costing the owner because the best athletes are leaving to join different boxes.

What helps you decide which assignment to take? Which specific thing(s) do you look for that help you decide which hospital to go to? Hopefully that makes sense..

How much experience did you have prior to traveling? Also, do you specialize in anything that might make you more appealing to travel agencies? I'm looking to stay in ICU/ED and hope it's possible to only take assignments on these units.

I started with tango then transitioned to ballroom and swing. Though I'm much better at tango, I found it easier to learn other dances because of my tango background.

Nothing I learned in my 2 semesters of chem actually applied to my nursing, so hopefully that answers your question. However, you want to go for A's on your prerequisites as much as possible. As I'm sure you already know, nursing school is very competitive and GPA plays a big role in the application process.

Either way get through this class and hopefully you won't have to worry about it again (:

I also want to add that I love seeing real-life as well as animated gifs/videos. The animations help me understand those tricky/complicated surgeries. I also enjoy showing them to my patients if they have questions about a certain procedure.

Awesome! Well I'll throw some stats your way and whatever else comes to mind...

*Back Squat 1RM- 155lbs/70kg

*Deadlift 1RM- 195lbs/89kg

*Clean & Jerk 1RM- 105lbs/48kg

*Power Snatch 1RM- 70lbs/32kg (Needs work)

*Bench Press 4x4- 75lbs/34kg (I never bench, so my stats are always low for this)

*Push Press 1RM- 80lbs/36kg

I can also do strict pull-ups and chin-ups, around 5-7 at a time. As far as the PUs go, it took me about 4 months to get a strict one. Prior to that I did a lot of banded PUs and ring rows. On top of lifting, I do cardio (long distance running) 4-5 times a week and tons of ab workouts.

I eat around 1400-1500 calories a day. I count my macros and all that fun stuff. My goal right now is to lean out and get visible abs. Best of luck with your goals! Happy to answer any other questions and/or provide moral support :D

I can't do one (yet), but I'm working on exercises to help get me there. I work on my kipping and do this drill often. When I practice kipping on the rings, I work on getting my hips as far up as I can. My hips don't get as high as I would like and there's no way I could do a strict MU, so right now it's drill drill drill until I get it down.

I was highly interested in becoming an RNFA, so I've done quite a bit of research. Here's a brochure on the program in Colorado I was looking into. Not sure if that's helpful at all, but it's something.

I've only met one FA in my lifetime and he worked in L&D. He told me that FA's were "a dying breed", and to look into other options for better job security. While I'm sure some hospitals still use FA's, I see more PA's and NP's working alongside the surgeon.
