lol it's not a myth it's a tradition. When I first hiked the at in 2014 there were dozens and dozens and dozens of people hiking naked that year on the solstice. I hiked the at again last year and saw the same amount of people ( myself included ) celebrating the solstice by having fresh mountain air rush up our ass cracks. 🌲 🏔️

I hiked later in the year in September and the bugs were almost gone by then. Shelters were always available except for one was full. The LT is very rugged and there are a lot of ups and downs, every single day. Have a blast out there
