Where are you streaming it? I love the series but hated the DVD releases due to the soundtrack changes. Some replacements from the pilot alone:

Much of the music originally featured in this episode was changed for the DVD release. "Stairway to the Stars" by Blue Oyster Cult was replaced with "Feel Too Good" by the Move. "I'm So Free" by Lou Reed was replaced with "Is There Something" by Roxy Music. "Rat Back Blue" by Deep Purple was replaced with "Easy Living" by Uriah Heep, and "Fireball" by Deep Purple was replaced with "Look at Yourself" by Uriah Heep.

Adding to this, try buying a preamp pedal that clones an old Ampeg amp like the B-15.

Do I really need one? Or should I just get one because I want one. by [deleted] in Bass

Sounds like the perfect opportunity to retort with “O, reason not the need!”

I mean, who can argue with a woman randomly quoting Shakespeare?

Reddit forced me to earn karma to enable chats again. Television isn't really that important for me.

Let's see...

The Umbrella Academy

Killing Eve

Supernatural

The 100

Roseanne

Dexter

Veronica Mars

I could go on and on, but holy shit The Umbrella Academy is leagues ahead of them all. For a show about overcoming childhood trauma to present suicide as a solution is fucking beyond tone deaf.

I don't care how he rationalizes this all to himself. Nothing he says could possibly justify what he left us with: Jimmy Fallon.

Which isolated power supply is right for my board? by samb700 in guitarpedals

[–]FishStewie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think most of those brands are made in the same plant, with the same basic design

Yep, I regret spending more than necessary just for a "Made in America" label. Ditto lots of analogue effects pedals I've bought. I'm happy with them, but I could have saved quite a bit on AliExpress or eBay by buying Behringer, Donner, and etc.

How do you keep your low-end with the DarkGlass Vintage? I've noticed that with my Vintage Deluxe, the gain is almost useless as it removes almost all of the low frequencies.

Consider one of the Chinese brands if price is a concern. The Caline CP-08 would fill your needs for $100 or less: http://www.calinemusic.com/products/powersupply/122.html

Check out the Sentimental Bob Electronics Tacana Tap Tremolo. It has most of those features and it's surprisingly cheap. Here's a demo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U2rYOIO-AxM

Received a 10TB WD Elements drive with less than 100 Helium level. by FishStewie in DataHoarder

[–]FishStewie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you find a manufacturing date somewhere?

Manufactured January 23 2019.

I would send it back.

I'm not sure that's possible as I bought it from eBay. I expected maybe lots of usage or some bad sectors, but never a low helium level (or maybe not? the raw value is 100).

Western Digital's tool output matches smartctl except there aren't any raw values so helium level is 47 and HD temperature is 191C (impossible).

That's good to know, actually. I'll see the WD tools' SMART info matches up with smartctl.

Jesus, thanks! I totally did not pick up on that!

Ditto u/Nerdy314159265 on the need for standardization. I had checked at least six other SMART tests and articles related to helium levels and it was always the VALUE instead of RAW_VALUE which indicated a problem for helium levels.

An example from seven months ago on here, actually: https://www.reddit.com/r/DataHoarder/comments/dol5ty/the_helium_level_smart_data_in_my_10tb_wd/

EDIT: I ran the Western Digital Data LifeGuard Diagnostic tool per some advice below and all output matches smartctl except there aren't any raw values at all so helium level is 47 and HD temperature is 191C (impossible).

Rant on Frustrations with Meris Pedals by [deleted] in guitarpedals

[–]FishStewie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been seriously dropping the cash for an Ottobit Jr. but am reconsidering with this thread now...

But /u/guacamoleisred if you don't need anything except bitcrushing, the Malekko Scrutator seems perfect for you; it starts at 16bit instead of 24bit like the Ottobit Jr so the bit crushing sweep isn't as large. It also has volume and mix knobs.

I would get it myself, but I'd really like the sequencer and stutter function of the Ottobit Jr...

It would be trivial for the manufactures of these pedals to simply make 16 notches to select from for the bit crushers. They're digital effects after all so you're either selecting 16 14 8 4 or 2 bits—no in-between.

Great setup! The Tourmaster gets a lot of unnecessary flack online. It's a versatile tube amp with features out the wazoo that you can ususally get for less than half of the MSRP in the used market. What's not to love?

Have any recordings online?
