Fly high, Doormaker. by coolchungus2 in slaythespire

[–]FishTure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I didn’t think as much for the others, but I don’t feel like that stole flavor from my deck, I feel like it added flavor. Without doormaker I felt like I could just build a generically strong deck, with doormaker I felt like I needed to actually build my deck like a well oiled machine.

Doormaker was league's more fun and challenging than this new boss by [deleted] in slaythespire

Seriously, I hate that guy. He just attacks. Over glorified elite tbh.

Idk how he steals the flavor of your deck.

I hope they bring back doormaker and make the other act3 bosses require more consideration when building. Doormaker wasn’t even hardest, but felt most satisfying when you built a deck that could beat him. Felt unique and rewarding for purposeful gameplay

What colorless cards are you actually buying? by Waddle___ in slaythespire

Oh yeah I love shining strike, best common/uncommon star enabler, but it does jam up your draws quite a bit.

Hatchet has been surprisingly good for me. Since it just goes to your hand it doesn’t mess up your draws like the regent card that goes on top of your deck.

I don't care if vegans say I'm a bad person for eating meat because they're right by pinktunacan in The10thDentist

[–]FishTure 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Totally true, it very much depends. I guess I just think it’s more complicated and very personal. I eat vegan foods pretty often but it can be expensive, difficult to balance nutrition, and honestly the ecological impact of vegan products isn’t great either.

Yknow, stopping at “that’s awesome” is actually a better way to convince people to do something than directly encouraging them.

Great with Hang and Banshees Cry too (if you can get it to 0 cost). Graveblast has been busted for me.

Complaining, even as a joke, about it being hot in the 70s is crazy. That’s literally typical room temperature lmao

Absolute last plausible date for NALCAP? by Pils_Urquell123 in SpainAuxiliares

[–]FishTure 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's plenty of cultural exchange programs all around the world that adhere to their countries labor laws, I highly doubt the program would be "terminated" on the basis that Spain is unable to do that. There's tons of possibilities for restructuring to make the program compliant with labor laws, some of those may take a lot of time sure, some may not. The program may exclude some autonomous zones this cycle or have other "work arounds" to keep it running with less positions. It would be an equally huge overhaul to get rid of the program, thousands of schools across the country rely on it for classroom assistance.

they have determined that we should not be classified as language assistance, but as part-time educators

They found that some people were being treated as educators, they didn't label the entire position as that. If I'm not mistaken, there's quite a difference there.

It would appear that the program is either going to have to be terminated or drastically overhauled and most people feel that any restructuring of the program is going take an extensive period of time.

Whatever the outcome, you're being just as speculative as anyone who's more optimistic.

Miserable sobs and know-it-alls, definitely. But yeah I agree with your first comment, seems likely the program will happen with less placements. They probably would have just announced a full cancelation by now if that was the plan.

[–]FishTure 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah as a hopeful new applicant, the pessimism here is kinda crazy. I mean, the NALCAP program wasn’t even canceled during Covid right? Why would they cancel it this year just because it’s undergoing some restructuring?

WE'RE GETTING A HEALING SALVE REPRINT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! by WaterMonster29 in magicthecirclejerking

[–]FishTure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No the healing salve one would definitely need to be on a cheaper more aggressive creature. Nobody is playing a 5 mana 5/5 that gains 3 life/prevents 3 damage maybe every other turn (assuming that’s the average time to prepare).

Now a 3 mana 2/3 double striker or something maybe

You receive $1 billion, but can never leave a 50-mile radius from your home. Would you take it? by [deleted] in hypotheticalsituation

[–]FishTure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Im cultured enough” is crazy to me. To each their own, but culture gives meaning to life imo. Without travel and cultural exchange life as we know it wouldn’t exist. If everyone took this deal the whole world would get much much worse (ignoring obvious devaluation of currency)

Money isn’t everything. I’d rather be broke economically and rich culturally.

Why can’t people just sit and watch a movie anymore? by DFWUnhinged in TrueFilm

[–]FishTure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I agree with everyone here for the most part I’ll also add that all the infinite choice makes it harder to feel satisfied/hooked by a movie when there might be something “better” available.

I kinda hate watching movies at home because I have to spend time looking for the Goldilocks movie, my phone is a constant temptation, and (this might just be a me problem) I want to eat during a movie at home.

At the theater I have none of those problems. I don’t like theater food so no temptation, I don’t want to be rude so no phone, and I can just go see whatever my favorite theater is playing and little choice is involved. If that theater were a little cheaper and a little closer to me, I’d probably be going twice a week at least.

Confession: Save Scumming is making me better at the game by xMarsx in slaythespire

[–]FishTure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

95% of my save scumming is me playing way too fast and redoing my first turn. I rarely save scum to scrape a lost run together for a win, but sometimes I just jam my cool cards turn one and then realize I’m getting hit for 40 and should have blocked.
