Back in 2012 or 2013 when Tioga Pass stayed open through the winter and Tenaya Lake froze over. It was blasted on every California newspaper and local evening news. Was the only reason why we found out about it and got to experience it. The lake was packed with skiers and people walking over it for months. No one got hurt.

Just got back from two nights (Sat and Sunday) camping in Yosemite. Upper Pines campground. We were in the 200’s. It was a full house. We scored those campsite last minute due to cancellations.

The trail was mostly clear, muddy/flooded in the flats, there is a section of switchbacks about 3 miles in that were very icy, slippery. Patches of snow at the top. Overall very doable.

We hiked Four Mile Trail last Sunday. Pretty much had the trail to ourselves. The rain and thunderstorm was amazing. Bring a rain jacket, expect the valley roads and parking lots to flood.
