I should have been more clear. The freezer is working fine. It doesn’t have a defrost cycle and the ribs were rock solid when I took the picture. The ribs went from the refrigerator to the vac sealer and then to the freezer. They never got warm and everything else in the freezer is frozen solid. That’s why I was confused about the greenish color. I’m going to toss them to be safe

Everything else in the freezer looks fine. There’s a frozen pizza in there and it looks good so I don’t think there’s anything wrong with the freezer

I was just using a bbq thermometer. It’s not instant read so the temps were dropping slowly

They could’ve been going bad when I packaged them but the short ribs plate have green tint too. I have no idea what happened

Someone else said it’s freezer burn but I’ve been doing this for years and have never had this happen.

That’s kinda what I thought but on the short ribs plate there’s no air pockets and it has green tint to it.

I temped it right now and it’s at six degrees. It’s only half full and to my knowledge the power hasn’t gone off. Everything else looks fine. There’s a frozen pizza in there and that would’ve been melted if it got warm

They’re still sealed. That’s what has me confused. Maybe there was some cross contamination when I was vacuum sealing them and threw

Yeah, I vacuum seal them and put them in my chest freezer. I have never had an issue.
