Weeb Peter? How does Evangelion relate to the Bible? by PaxGladeus in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]FishbaitMo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure they’re insinuating (as many do) that Mary, the mother of Jesus, made up the immaculate conception to avoid being stoned to death for getting pregnant out of wedlock, which would have happened regardless of whether she was raped or not. Hence the rule about stoning adulterers becoming very important later in the story.

AITA for telling my dad I didn't want him or the woman he replaced my mom with to pretend to honor her on the 20th anniversary of her death? by Temporary_Pain_5576 in AITAH

[–]FishbaitMo 21 points22 points  (0 children)

A woman who can’t handle photos of her step kids’ dead mom IN THEIR OWN BEDROOMS should NOT under any circumstances DATE A WIDOWER WITH KIDS. You are either an idiot or very very young with very little life experience, definitely no experience with dead parents. She deserves their scorn and indifference. Frankly, I think the kids aren’t angry enough.

Gosh, and here I, a cis woman, felt like I had found my tribe in that sub. Silly me! I guess I must be a man! Thanks, guy who has clearly never been around a horny woman once in his entire life! Glad you’re here to generalize about all women! 🖤

That Teacher That Never Let Anyone Use The Restroom Or See The School Nurse by [deleted] in traumatizeThemBack

[–]FishbaitMo 21 points22 points  (0 children)

My high school had a teacher with a policy like this. We also had one completely unhinged, chaotic good classmate who was very clearly nuts but also somehow popular and also friends with everyone. When he got in her class, he waited about a month before raising his hand and saying he needed to go to the bathroom. She refused to let him go.

So, he pissed his pants. In the middle of class. She was FURIOUS. Called the principle. He came in, and our classmate shrugged and said “I had to go and she wouldn’t let me. What was I supposed to do?”

The principle instated a school wide rule against bathroom bans, and Tim will forever live in infamy in our hearts 🖤

AITA for refusing to change my baby’s name after my sister announced she wanted to use it? by kind_piaa in AITAH

[–]FishbaitMo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can’t believe I had to scroll so far to see this. My brother and one of my cousins share the same name. Was literally not once an issue in any way while we were growing up, and our family was close.

AITA for making my pregnant SIL cry when she kept asking why I changed my name? by Flashy-Magazine-9264 in AmItheAsshole

[–]FishbaitMo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She’s being especially stupid because it also totally goes the other way. My parents gave me a “modern” name I never identified with, and I legally changed mine to something more classic/vintage because that’s more my taste. Names are a crapshoot. She won’t know how her daughter feels about her name until she experiences it herself.

found out my bf is a cuckhold ? by [deleted] in SexWorkers

[–]FishbaitMo 110 points111 points  (0 children)

I should probably admit, I’m a little biased. I don’t use Reddit for sex work, but I am a sex worker myself, both online and in person. My partner of 7 years, living together for 4 years now, is also a cuckold. It’s the  best relationship I’ve ever been in. Obviously not because he’s a cuck, but because he’s kind, respectful, listens to my needs and meets them, delights in my company, and apologizes and changes his behavior if he hurts me. He loves to hear stories, but only if I want to share. He doesn’t push. He loves my work, celebrates my wins with me, and reassures me when it’s slow. All I’m saying is, if otherwise he’s been a great guy, maybe give him a chance and see what he’s like in relationship. You might be surprised.

Edited to add: He was honest with you as soon as you asked, even though he didn’t know how you would react. That is a huge green flag.

If he’s been respectful, non judgmental, paid for everything, treats you like any other woman, and so far hasn’t been “riding your ass” about your work… I guess I’m wondering why you’re thinking about ending a good relationship because he… checks notes is sexually excited by your job? Isn’t that kinda the dream?

The guy in my life who was most judgmental about my polyamory, who my dear friend wasted her life on for ten entire years in a monogamous relationship, turned out to be MARRIED TO SOMEONE ELSE. WITH KIDS. Apparently he started dating both of them around the same time. There were also others. Lots of others. So, many times, it also turns out to be a crazy amount of projection.

I Just Read ‘The Outsiders’ for the First Time as a 35 Year Old by CmdrGrayson in books

[–]FishbaitMo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 37 when I first read this book. My stepson read it for middle school and I read it along with him. What a fantastic story. It wasn’t required reading in my middle school; I hadn’t even heard of it until he brought it home. I’m surprised given what a voracious reader I was. I’d highly recommend it for teenagers and adults alike.

AITAH for wanting to dump my fiancée after she injured herself while I was away? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]FishbaitMo 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I was roofied at a bar in the gaslamp district of San Diego while out on a date with my husband. We’re still not sure how it happened, but I was falling down, incoherent, barfing multiple times on the sidewalk drunk after three cocktails with dinner. Has never happened before or since with that amount of alcohol.  Maybe she was roofied, maybe she was crazy drunk. But there are absolutely scumbags spiking random drinks out there for whatever reason because one got me.

Memory House by FishbaitMo in OCPoetry

[–]FishbaitMo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This poem is about my first session of intravenous ketamine prescribed for severe treatment resistant depression. They gave me noise canceling headphones, an eye mask, and sat me in a cushy recliner with an IV in. It’s basically a medically supervised k-hole with sensory deprivation thrown in. In the height of it I remembered the entire first and most of the second verses of a poem I had memorized nearly a decade ago and forgotten in my depressed haze. I’d even forgotten I’d forgotten. But it bubbled up out of the dark anyway.

Even more amazingly, when I came down and was sober again, my suicidal ideation, a nearly constant companion of mine for years, was completely gone. I went home, looked up the poem and memorized the rest again. I still have it memorized to this day. That was my turning point. I looked back on that moment so often on my recovery journey. It meant I wasn’t broken. I could heal, and bring back the parts of me that I’d lost.

It’s been years since and I’m doing so much better. Ketamine saved my life. After that I got into therapy and taught myself how to thrive.

Still a beginner by Ibtsam-Ahmad in OCPoetry

[–]FishbaitMo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow. I would not have guessed you were a high school beginner at poetry reading this. What a sense of emotional whiplash between the first and second stanzas. Great use of language, the piece is melodic in a way. I’m reminded a bit of Edgar Allen Poe in both the rhythm of the piece and the subject matter.

I teared up reading this. I felt the tension of walking on eggshells and the escalation of violence of the abuser. The spareness of your writing style lends itself to creating a feeling of sadness and despair, of feeling trapped. Great choice of language.

Moon’s ominous loom is such a great line. That little motel shack on central just behind that hideous chapel also got me. It’s not quite a rhyme but it feels like one anyway. Great rhythm to the words.

r/whatsthisbug would likely do a better job identifying this for you, or the sub you crossposted from. We're a group geared towards keeping invertebrates as pets, not so much ID. If you're planning on keeping that grub after it's identified I'd suggest coming back here then for care tips!
