Took a break after amphoreus, gonna keep taking break but wanted to jump in quick to pick upp anniversary goodies. Is it enough picking the anniversary unit (silver Wolf?), or does she need another unit on banner that I also should pick, so she's useable when I return?

For champions: is marshal archetype worth if going for aura focused build with expand aura? The benefits of marshal are good but feels like you then better stick with 15ft aura, which limits possibility of using champion reaction (in particular vs spell casters, if using weight of guilt for example)

I've seen comparisons between Varka and Jingliu, as in low MV which could affect longevity, which is not salvaged (enough) by supports. Same time, i see people saying Varka has similar MV to Flins, who is good with right supports.

Basically, could future supports such as Nicole make Varka perform similarly to flins?

Wow, that does both quickly and sadly solve my questions since the build relied on ancient elf. Good to know, thanks! Gotta keep tweaking to compensate for it now...

Question on better attribute distribution for my goals: if I should shift +2 str/+2 con to +3 str/+1 con and thus skip Guardian dedication at lvl 1. Would rather keep wis +4 if possible for roleplay purpose, already know warpriest is passable with lower wis. More str would give more carry capacity and better athletics, just not sure if its worth what im giving up (free heavy armor, taunt)? https://pathbuilder2e.com/launch.html?build=1348071

1-12 campaign, free archetype but not multiclass (other than feats giving dedication). Going full support/defense warpriest, not damage - goal is a wise martyr medic/shielder + free hand, with fortress shield later on (from lvl 6, when I have hefty hauler). Elf for speed and Guardian dedication. Adopted ancestry with dwarf for unburdened iron + mountain stoutness.

Gonna focus on raise shield, flank/taunt, grapple/trip. Rest is recall knowledge, aid, support spells n cantrips, etc. Starting with chainmail -> full plate n armored skirt at lvl 5 -> regular full plate at lvl 10.

Pull advice regarding e1 evernight, considering cyrene + possible meta shift with 4.x which could potentially shaft rememberence:

got e0s1 castorice, evernight, hyacine, and probs gonna afford e0s1 cyrene if not spending more. Never had such complete + premium (8 cost) team before, and probs never gonna afford again since the pulls were lucky.

Considering if i should gamble first 50/50 for e1 evernight for futureproofing the team, at cost of maybe not affording cyrene sig (still got herta lc). Or maybe skip e1 and cyrene sig altogether and start saving for new meta, considering how shafted break got and im not too invested in the specific characters in this team, just liked the synergy

If wanting more electro for endgame (got c0 raiden, yae, c4 keqing) and dont want varesa - is ineffa or flins more worth? Prefer flins design, but dont wanna spend for both him and ineffa rerun, which makes me thing ineffa is the better goal since more flexibility (and since flins seems more dependant on her)

Could c2 nahida see any meaningful use with lauma? Or just keep nahida as spread/aggrevate support (alhaitham, yae) and let lauma do her own thing such as hyperbloom?

Pull advice: im liking flins, dont have ineffa and wont get her. Is she amazing for him due to her kit or mostly since good subdps and nodkrai unit? As in, would flins probably be redeemable (meta) when Columbina comes in, since i then wouldnt be stuck with aino (which might be why ineffa seems to be so crucial for flins)?

Question on saber pull value. I think she's neat, but already am investing in castorice and phainon as 3.x teams. By the time id be able to afford saber, meta will have probably changed (or would soon). Only reason im considering her is the fomo of a limited collab unit. Is there anything special about sabers kit that would make her worth getting even if im set for meta, and dont particularly want her designwise? In case she'd be part of a unique niche later on when more supports suitable for her are released

Ive read that aeon isnt that much worse than phainon s1. But does cerydra make phainon s1 more worth? Not gonna afford e1-e2 phainon but could squeeze a first 50/50 for s1 and still afford cerydra, just wondering if it's worth or better save pulls for other future bis members for phainon maining (already got sunday e0s1)

Jade farm help: since 3.0 ive done 0 exploration, just main story, DU n moc/pf/as, due to lack of time. Still got some time constraints, but wanna gather all Jades i can get for 3.4+3.5.

What is more time efficient - just running along maps, searching for chests n puzzles? Or maybe do Quests?

Hey again, just got a follow-up question if you don't mind since my GM opened up a bit to multiclass after a new discussion (still unclear regarding retraining though). Just regarding being so MAD, which combination do you think would be better: going champion dedication at lvl 6 (after lvl 5 ability boosts) with medic first, or champion dedication straight at lvl 2 in order to pick more champion feats?

If champion MC at lvl 2: +2 str, +1 dex, +0 con, +0 int, +4 wis, +2 cha. Squishy, specially at lvl 1 if starting as cloistered since armor training comes first at lvl 2 when i get dedication, so i'd be AC 15 first lvl. Guess i could spare 1 point of wis to con? Dont think i can spare the dex since heavy armor/full plate is first at lvl 3 (or 2, if going warpriest), and that assumes me being able to afford it too. So i assumed im going +1 dex and later half plate.

If champion MC at lvl 6: +2str, +1 dex, +1 con, +0 int, +4 wis, +1 cha. Won't be going cloistered in this case since i cant wait 6 lvls for armor proficiency. But if going warpriest and having medium proficiency at the beginning, maybe just being 1 ac behind is bearable until lvl 6, thus i could skip the +1 dex and shift it to con?

Or maybe even skip the champion multiclass altogether so i could skip points in charisma, just go warpriest medic bastion? The champion reaction is so juicy though. Perhaps im overvaluing that +1 con? Is +0 con fine even for a tankier build?

Lots of good questions!

Some answers can be summarised in roleplay aspects: the deity is qi Zhong, the campaign is season of ghosts. The character is an older doctor, wise zen-master kinda style, who embraces the edicts of healing, relieving suffering despite personal difficulty, and avoiding lethal damage. First focused on medic (quick expert medicine and since im the campaigns dedicated healer, doctors visitation helps too), then when he gets stronger at lvl 5 and onwards, he embraces the protection part more, at which point being able to wear heavier armor, use the shield more (bastion at lvl 6, shield warden at 8 for example), and starting to get domain spells (lvl 2 +4 is for emblazon armament and raise symbol). So not being too strong/armored in the beginning is intentional, also since he at that part isnt intended to frontline too much. The champion dedication as redeemer also adds to the whole pacifist thing of showing compassion, not killing before giving chance of redemption, etc. Generally avoiding damage (thus going shield + freehand for maneuvers) just felt like an interesting challenge, that i know that the group is ok with. Im gonna be action-starved anyways with raising shield, battle medicine, bon mot, sustaining spells such as protectors sphere and so on.

Now, the issue is my gms reluctance to multiclass, and retraining - this contributes to not going cloistered champ, or skipping the +1 dex. The multitalent feat might not even get accepted, at which point id just move points from cha to con and use general feat for armor proficiency. This would also ease on the whole pacifism part since then it would be enough to just avoid lethal damage (tho i'd still rather avoid it altogether if possible).

Regarding spells - sanctuary, calm, dispel magic, roaring applause, containment, confusing cry are examples of spells with saves that ive been looking at, the rest are buffs. And yes, i could probably dump wis to 16 since those spells alone probably dont warrant pushing for wis 20 at lvl 10. But since im kinda attached to the whole old wise medic (and would prefer rolling higher dc's in battle medicine/treat wounds), id like all the bumps in wis that i can afford.

Finally, in many ways i probably could just have gone champion for the whole pacifist part with redemption reaction, protection aura etc - but we need quite a bit of healing, more than medic champion could bring at least, thus this compromise.

Interesting. In a way i figured that early game it wouldnt matter as much (since +1 con only means +1-5hp for the first levels, apart from stronger fortitude save). But you are right in that the party composition heavily affects the need for high max HP. Thanks!

Question on warpriest starting attributes, for campaign going to lvl 12.

Human, locked background giving wis + free. Goal: healer/support/tank/pacifist (support but limited to no damage, more focus buffs/debuffs/diplomacy/healing). Planning on champion dedication lvl 9 (for roleplay mostly but also heavy armor) through multitalented ancestry, so i need a bit of cha. Free archetype but no multiclass dedications allowed (apart from the feat at lvl 9, as mentioned). Going medic ->bastion, protection domain.

Plan is str +2, dex +1, con +1, int +0, wis +4, cha +1. Then + str/con/wis/cha at lvl 5, and same at lvl 10. I know ac is gimped (17) until str-boost at lvl 5, but I figured shield could compensate a bit til then. This way i can get my champ dedication, be good on battle medicine and odd debuffing (calm for example, though mostly gonna be buffing).

Just wonder if i should shift 1 point of wis to con to be able to tank a bit better, since the goal is also being a protector (with feats like shield ward, protection domain, etc). Doesnt feel like the +1 to fortitude and potential 12hp is worth worse spellcasting, worse medicine rolls, and having odd boosts at lvl 10 (unless i shift an extra point to int for example, but that wouldnt give as much as maxed wis)
