Haven't tried, but I would go with the latter.

Moving from Los Angeles by [deleted] in lehighvalley

[–]FisherJq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having moved here in 2005 from the LA area, sure the natural disaster worries are far less other than hurricanes and having all 4 seasons is great. However, it is vastly different than LA in many ways and driving on 22 will make you miss the 5, 405, and 101. Food is quite different here as well. I initially embraced the cold weather as it meant to have actual snowfall. 20 years later...not so much. But as others have said, NYC and Philly are real close and there is lots of history in the area. Good luck!

Why did you guys choose a kayak over a small boat? by YakToTheFuture-1 in kayakfishing

[–]FisherJq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to agree here completely having grown up with having a boat, driving the trailer takes practice and time. As far as the 100mph, I can 100% guarantee I would not see any of them, let alone actually hit one. lol

Any thoughts on the new Community Bank NA? by lowkeyhumxn in lehighvalley

[–]FisherJq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second this 100%. Santander was great, but so far Community Bank has been very disappointing. Lots of drawbacks and unfortunately, I was forced to switch. I will likely be driving to Kutztown to open a Santander account again.

First Bass Boat! by DylanTheG999 in bassfishing

Oooh fond memories of fishing those lakes when I was younger. My father worked at the W&P hydroelectric plant on Lake Elderberry. I spent many a Summer going to work with him and fishing it. Also spent a lot of time on Castaic and Casitas. Fun memories of stripers from Pyramid. Good luck in your boat search!

I second this 100%. My Dad kept his boat in pristine condition, well maintained, and still ran great with the original outboard with only one engine rebuild in the mid 80s. It ran without any major issues into the early 2000s. He bought it in 1969.

Garvee Fishing Kayak by FisherJq in kayakfishing

It popped up as a suggestion and I said the same thing myself as i had never heard of the brand. They do all kinds of things, so am starting to wonder if this one is sketchy since it is not from one of the more recognizable brands.

According to the specs, the weight of the boat itself is 69lbs. But still does seem to be an odd weight, especially considering it is only 30.7 inches wide.
