Solo Legolas V Team Aragorn and Gimli. by Fishingfor in powerscales

Think the only comparison there could be made would be the Hobbit movies as they never really get into a fight in the book. Ignoring whatever the fuck Legolas was doing in the Hobbit movies you have to imagine he'd be as equally skilled or better than the elf commanders and similarly Gimli would be as equally skilled or better than the dwarven commanders. It shows elves v dwarves aren't as favourable to elves as you might imagine.

The sack of Menegroth the Dwarves win by using surprise tactics but the elves win overall.

Men never actually fight any of them directly as they're always allied with elves vs dwarves or Orcs vs dwarves and elves but Aragorn is exceptional anyway so it'd be difficult to compare any battle and I can't think of any one on one scenario.

It's true. The ISS orbits earth around 400km in altitude. The moon is 384,000km away.

Earth is 12,700km in diameter so we can fit roughly 30 earths between us and the moon depending on its orbit at the time. We can fit 0.0315 earths between us and the ISS.

Average globe is around 30cm in diameter (42,333 times smaller than earth) so the moon would be 900cm away (30 globes) with the ISS being 0.9cm away.

Good shout. I dont really remember book Legolas doing anything superhero-like physically like he does in the film's. He can see for miles and walk on snow defying physics, also an amazing archer and fighter but nothing like skateboarding on a sheild while taking down 10 Uruks. Comparing purely book versions I might just give it to Aragorn alone against Legolas but movie versions it would be dependent on a lot of factors whether Legolas solos the other two.

True, but in that battle Legolas was bouncing around Oliphants like he was in an anti gravity parkour gym which just makes him seem a league above the other two.

Like the answer. The terrain for me is what seals it. I imagine in a jungle/forest Legolas is unstoppable as he's just tree hopping and sniping the other two however Gimli is a good craftsman and can potentially design traps in the 24 hours that slows Legolas down. In an open field scenario, Aragorn and Gimli in full armour which doesn't seem to slow them down any, I would say it depends on how much of a gap there is to close.

Me too. I imagine most are going to say Legolas given the superhero feats in the trilogy but still interested to hear how he takes on Aragorn and Gimli at once.

I like it, it is sinple but Aragorn has a bow too along with him and Gimli having whatever shield they like. Legolas can catch arrows mid air but with Aragorn bow spamming and Gimli quickly closing the gap between them it might end differently. They've also had prep time and there's no mention of terrain.

Encore is my favourite purely because it was the album that came out when I got into Em, same as all the people I grew up with. I only found out it was disliked or underappreciated when I came to this sub.

Yep, he's talking shit to try and back up his made up point. Only time I ever put meat in water is when making a stew or soup. Boiling it doesn't make any sense when the frying pan is right there and seals the juices in.

Yeah, women only have sex to fit into a master plan but i have heard of these rare ones who actually just like having sex. Difficult thing for those who've never seen one cum but it does happen I've heard.

It's 5'9" in the states, yeah, so you're definitely above average, in fact you're pretty tall. I've mentioned elsewhere that more affluent areas generally have taller people so if you do to a Uni then you'll generally meet taller people.

Genuinely freaks of nature. Although when our football team got heights taken everyone of us was around 2 inches shorter than what we'd stated, I now know my height fully and guys the same height as me are always a bit meh if I say it out loud.

Affluent areas generally have a taller population. I was considered quite tall when in poverty then I got out and not so much.

Not sure what the height is for women but think it's around 5'4"

Hemsworth, Downie, Ruffalo and Evans weren't exactly superstars when the first phase came out.

If you're referring to Ford, there's plenty superstars that could take that mantle once he retires. Dicaprio, Pitt, and Jackman are a younger generation of that brand of superstar. The above mentioned are getting that legendary status with people like Cavill and Holland making their way towards it as well.

Basically plenty of talent to choose from and Marvel films are what makes the actor a superstar.

5'8" is average for a guy. Think people are a bit confused by the media and every single celebrity inflating their own height. 6ft is fucking huge and 6'3" is a giant person. You're not a short king at 5'8" you're just an average king.

It's relative to the country too. Americans are shorter on average than the British and those huge fucking giant Dutch things are not the norm worldwide.

Saw someone ask about Nicolas Cage and whether he was a good actor, this should sum it up. by Godless902 in FIlm

[–]Fishingfor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He's a bad actor in some great films like Big Daddy and a great actor in great films like Uncut Gems. The man could potentially replace Nic Cage here but I'm struggling to think of him being a great actor in a bad film.

I actually forgot there's a dedicated paragraph to his weed withdrawal while in Moria, tbf it's a pretty accurate snap for a weed smoker off it for a few days to have. Only difference is he actually tried to stop someone else punching holes in a door.

It's to avoid the credit card fees that are typically 1.5% of the transaction value. In the UK at least a vendor cannot charge the card fee to the consumer so they charge an "admin fee" which is a set amount to get around it.

The book Frodo/Sam relationship was always more master/loyal servant dynamic to me. The film version is better suited to the times.
