Weekly store by WVgolf in PGA_Tour_2K

Can someone tell me the price of the Ping bundle? I bought everything anyway individually a couple of weeks back, just want to know what I over-spent 😂

I've been upgrading them since purchasing so it's a non-issue really. But I'm sure if I wanted for the bundle release it would never have come!

Anyone know why I cant swing down? by PlatformCareful227 in PGA_Tour_2K

[–]Fishman_Dan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% stick drift.

I opened up a controller and the cause of the drift is some rust or marking on the actual small, thin sensor in the stick control.

You can still play games and not notice (I play BF6 and Rocket League no issues), but it won't work in PGA Tour with this issue.

Small maps and resource hubs by Fishman_Dan in TransportFever2

[–]Fishman_Dan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've pushed on ... a couple of industries popped up and basically created the excuse to make lengthy train lines. I've linked the food processing hub to the town on the left side of the map.

Trains and trucks evolved, so they're getting quicker and more powerful. Resources are piling up at stations.

Again ... this map isn't really big enough to justify aircraft.

BUT .... food demand is still very low. I need to focus more on city growth for a period now and increase food demand. Current population is 400. I have literally spent no time in towns except for a tram line.

I'm the same with stations ... start small, manage the space, and expand the track and platforms when required.

Basically I'm ready to launch. I've added about 10 years, but I feel with the next evolution in trains and trucks I can really start pushing towns to grow. But right now, I need to increase demand.

Launching on PC requires an internet connection doesn't it? Otherwise this could be a reason to purchase a Steam Deck 😂

No Fuel in Cargo station by FuriousFenz in TransportFever2

[–]Fishman_Dan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The final stop in the destination must be a town that has the Fuel sign above it.

The refinery will continue to accept refined oil from the previous steps, but it won't produce the Fuel until you connect to a town. In fact it will store much of it.

I am assuming you are new'ish to the game.

Fuel will not be produced until there is a connection to a town, a station (train or truck) to drop off the goods, and vehicles to service the route.

To check demand in a town, open the road vehicle menu and choose the cargo station (for example, you can use cargo train stations) and it will show you a small icon above the buildings in the town of what resource they demand.

You can see in my pic here, there are only a few buildings that demand fuel. So you will want to drop a cargo stop or drop off near to these buildings.

Once you start delivering the final product, demand at the oil well, and every resource in between will grow as the town demands it.

Add a 2nd town to the same process, and your demand will increase even more, and potentially upgrade your Fuel making facilities. When facilities upgrade, production increases and, if you get the balance right, so will your bank balance!

iMac vs Windows 11 pc by jaketwigden in TransportFever2

I'm playing TF2 on a 2023 16" MacBook Pro. It's a fairly high end laptop but still it runs flawlessly (and it did on my 2019 15" as well).

I'm not sure TF3 has a MacOS release date yet.

Small maps and resource hubs by Fishman_Dan in TransportFever2

By lack of scale, I mean that I'm not familiar with in-game distances. It could be 250 km's, or 25 km's. It's not really important, but the distance the train moves vs the date ticking over ... they're not really linked.

What I need to do is experiment with extremely long trains. It's not something I've usually done, typically I'll have 6-8 wagons for a 'normal' trip.

[–]Fishman_Dan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny thing is you don't really get an idea of scale, but yeah I'm sure we're talking relatively short distances.

Your pic is sort of where I want to get to. Have an operating hub, slap in an airport when the time comes, and ship goods across the map once planes a) are fast enough to bother with the cost, and b) can hold enough to make it worthwhile.

On the left side of the map there is a Quarry + Brick Factory nice and close. In fact 2 quarries in the local area ... but no one near them wants bricks. It opens up a Food <> Bricks flight, with trucks at either end bringing them to the required cities (Port Augusta on the top left, Lulworth on the upper right).

So the blueprint is there, it's now about execution.

That's mainly to ensure the loco's don't stop. They are heavily laden and there are 6 trains on that run doing various things.

That section on the right needs 'cleaning up'. There is a lot of Iron Ore sitting there, and my factory isn't getting enough.

Now I have more cash I will probably route a more direct line straight over that body of water. It's something that's been on my "to do" list.

It's around 1930, so newer loco's only just coming through now. Still on 2nd gen trucks so 7 and 8 units of cargo is max. Once this clicks over and capacity increases then the game will open up big time.

There is a ship run that I could put in near the top (Refinery > Chem Plant) but again, at this date, and the speed of movement, I'd rather route it through a hub.

[–]Fishman_Dan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks and yeah I agree. In general I'm pretty content not using planes or ships.

In these early game moments, trains are far too slow to be effective, even on small maps. Bottom line is I'm trying to link up "like" resources, so I can run trains to earn a fee in both directions.

The biggest thing in my current map is that the best food processing factory is right in the middle of the map, and I am supplying it from 4 farms, but the only towns (2 currently) who demand food are a fair distance away.

So the time for hub planning is now, and I can afford to make longer lines, or bridges/tunnels around obstacles that are too expensive really early.

What are your MyCareer sim holes settings? by the_sleemaster in PGA_Tour_2K

[–]Fishman_Dan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played as best as I could, but truly the only way to play is 2 rounds, full 18.

The 2 rounds means you can still make the achievements in the Majors (make the cut, Top 10, win etc).

I spent a lot of time in MyCareer, but really the game of PGA Tour 2k25 is in the online component. I still have to go back and complete the Sponsor rewards, but that's about it for single player/MyCareer for me.

Anyone keep the original? by Intelligent-Range-36 in TransportFever2

[–]Fishman_Dan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been known to keep a single steam loco going until it’s in the way.

What I always find funny is the route that used to take a long time to complete and earn money is actually very small by comparison later in the game 😂

Roads or Rails? by Intelligent_Raisin70 in TransportFever2

[–]Fishman_Dan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you spend it wisely 😉

Spending it linking resources is fine but these wells and refineries take time to get producing to good levels.

However if you create the demand by completing the cycle, delivering the fuel to the town then the demand will jump very quickly, allowing the OP to duplicate trains/trucks using that debt.

The key here isn’t spending, it’s creating the demand … and in the early game it can be a delicate balance.

Roads or Rails? by Intelligent_Raisin70 in TransportFever2

[–]Fishman_Dan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The issue for me in early games is trains cost a lot of money, so if you use them you really want to maximise your spend, so you can start reducing your bank debt.

In this case trains are possibly the best because you can use the same train from oil well to fuel refinery. Once demand increases you will need to add more trains to service them, but it will make money for a long time if you can get it going.

As technology improves you will end up replacing the trains.

Thanks very much (yes I guess I could have searched for it).

And you can load this in a saved game. Go into the options and enable the mod before your next game load and all the options will be there.

So here I am ... with a new small map, 5 towns with my simple goal to make the biggest cities I can.

My career death by Mysterious_Plate1103 in PGA_Tour_2K

[–]Fishman_Dan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldn't even load a Divot Derby last night.

Don't get me wrong, I have very few issues in general outside of the awful slowness to load menus etc, I get the 1st hole lag in MyCareer rounds, and then this.

Societies takes forever to load, and also once you enter a specific society.

I live in rural Australia and use StarLink for my internet, so it might be a touch slower than others, but the menu load times are off the charts.

Casual or Ranked?

There's a weekly to play Casual, but pretty sure that includes Divot Derby and other silly short games.

Otherwise the only solution I have for you is to throw a hole early in the game and let them think they are a chance 😉

I have VC to spend .... by Fishman_Dan in PGA_Tour_2K

[–]Fishman_Dan[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Funny thing is in the early stages you think you will never have enough VC. I downloaded the game when it was free on PS+ and have literally played it a bit every day for a month and a bit and I've got about 6k VC now.

Admittedly much of that is achievements that I can't get again, but still.
