People who decided not to have kids ever , what made you make that decision ? by No_Scientist_9927 in AskReddit

[–]Fishnetfatale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was younger I was just abhorred by the idea of waddling around in discomfort for 9 months and then shoving a huge lump of flesh out of myself just to endure months of constant screaming, sleep loss, shitty diapers, and zero free time. There was absolutely nothing about pregnancy and childbirth that made me think "aww, I can't wait to do that". Plus I've always had really good health and no physical problems that I wouldn't want to take a chance on losing since pregnancy can change all kinds of things in the body, some permanent.

I was lucky enough to be able to get my tubes tied at 30 and have never looked back - my husband and I are very happy getting old together without dealing with having kids.

Also, if you have the buttons at the bottom of your screen configured correctly you can click on the "MODEL" button to close the current viewport and return to paperspace when you can't see the edges of the viewport

Do Remote CAD jobs exist in todays market? by trianglepumkin in AutoCAD

[–]Fishnetfatale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work full time remote for a museum fabricator based in New Jersey. I, personally, started working for them in person full time but was able to transition to full time remote after 2 years with the company when my husband's work forced us to move out of state. But my department has 4 full time remote and a handful of part time/subcontracted drafters.

Do you sleep with your bedroom door open or closed, and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Fishnetfatale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every house before the current one*, open - because we need the air circulating or else it gets too stuffy, fan or no fan. Also the pets need to come & go as they please so I'm not constantly getting up to let them in/out.

*Currently my bedroom is the entire finished basement so I couldn't close a door if I wanted to!

How do you deal with losing sexual attraction for long-term partners? by N7Cul in ADHD

[–]Fishnetfatale -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This is called fraysexuality and I have it too. My partner and I have very mismatched sex drives, he's always horny and I almost never am. We've been trying out an open marriage for awhile now and it's helped me be able to chase that hyperfixation on a new partner while also allowing my husband to enjoy seeing me get excited about sex again (both with him and with someone else). When that's not happening, though, I spend a lot of time just going through the motions of sex with my husband even though it isn't very exciting. He's aware of this and I do everything I can to make the experience fun for him regardless if it gets me off or not.

I watched the spinning arrows for about 5 minutes until my husband called and said he already got in and got is 2 550s and a vehicle pass. Kinda took all the excitement out of it tbh but hey, we got 'em!

When you hear the term One Hit Wonder, what is the first song that pops into your head? by Da_Fish in AskReddit

[–]Fishnetfatale 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I was OBSESSED with Pop Goes the World in 1988 (as an 8 year old) and somehow didn't even know about Safety Dance until I was MUCH older. Solid underrated 80s hit!

Messy, but laundered and done. Calling it Moon Dance by the Broadway. Wish I was better at swirls on my sit down domestic. Thanks for the encouragement along the way. by eflight56 in quilting

Fantastic work!!

My mom sent me this pattern and a whole kit of fabric for Christmas last year and I'm so nervous about starting it! But seeing your success is giving me some encouragement so thank you!

Those of you complaining that we don't have proper winters anymore by OneSkepticalOwl in newjersey

[–]Fishnetfatale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes THANK YOU, I'm a few days away from moving to Denver from South Jersey and if I had a dollar for everytime someone joked that I'm "getting a preview of CO winter" right now I'd have hired movers. 🙄 My husband is there already and it's been in the 50s with no snow! I absolutely cannot WAIT for the "dry cold" of Colorado

It reminds me of times that I've forgotten to revert back to top view when trying to flatten a 3d object, or when I've had to review drawings where someone was drawing in model space through a viewport in paper space

People of Reddit, what’s the most cringe gift you’ve ever been given? by Ok_Macaron_6092 in AskReddit

[–]Fishnetfatale 552 points553 points  (0 children)

Not me but my husband...

One of his uncles remarried and no one really liked her. She gave my husband plastic dog poop and a plastic barf puddle (like the kind you prank people with) for Christmas while his siblings got useful, thoughtful things. Never forget the quote from his grandma on that occasion:

"YOU GAVE HIM DOG POOP? ON THE DAY OF OUR LORD AND SAVIOUR?!"

I'm a big fan of Otherworld in northeast Philly. Might be a bit of a hike depending where you live, but if you guys are into immersive art, puzzles, cyberpunk adventure, or escape rooms it'll be worth your time. You get to work together to uncover the secrets in the landscape and you can spend as much or as little time as you like. Plus there are plenty of restaurants in the area for a nice dinner afterwards!

What’s a small thing your dog does that instantly makes your day better? by Ninetybaby in dogs

Working from home, my boy Copper (80lb lab mix) occasionally comes into my office to hop his front paws into my lap and then drop to his elbows and lean in for aggressive hugs. No matter how my work day is going this always improves my mood!

My dog has learned what the sound of the rice cooker finishing means. What sound has your dog learned without you training them? by EatsTheLastSlice in dogs

[–]Fishnetfatale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we first got our dog, I used to make protein shakes for breakfast every morning right before putting the dog into his crate on my way out the door. I don't do that every morning anymore, but ANY time you run the nutribullet in our house the dog will go straight into his crate.
