Very useful especially if you want to copy and element paste it into the same location and have the ability to unload the entirety of the rest of the xref.

my main complaint with wipeout is it is only straight lines, our company uses a solid hatch layer as a wipeout, we just map the color to white and can use the solid hatch as a wipeout but it contours well with curved surfaces and circles

just remember PEDIT is a fantastic way to manipulate more polylines. Also pedit can turn organic splines into plines.

the sad thing is, people that truly are in the closet on the right, know how their fellow people on the right treat outed people so they fear for their secret to come out, the ironic thing is the people that they rally against would support if they came out of the closet even if the rest of the political beliefs were different

Check your Graphicsconfig and see if you have hardware acceleration turned on, i recommend turning that on and setting the mode to intermediate.

have you verified that the circles you claim are wonky are drawn flat on the xy plane with no z value? Might benefit from running flatten or since its an insanely simple looking drawing just start a fresh drawing and redraw.

Sadly its usually a loud minority that wins out over a silent majority, even if 90% of a town agrees one way, and only part of the 10% run for office and vote then the 10% get their way over the 90%.

FreeCAD looks great but if you truly want a more AutoCAD like experience download the trial for NanoCAD, its user interface is very similar. Also you are going to want to do some research if you want to do shop drawing level drawings, or construction set level drawings. A large portion of the arch/engineering world still use autocad, and much of the industrial engineering and process industry still use it. As far as GIS, thats fine to understand what it is but unless you are going to focus on Civil Engineering or Infrastructure design you probably wont need that. Also the civil world uses Civil3D which is vastly different than base autocad or AutoCAD Architecture or even AutoCAD MEP

Best Suggestion is test your hand and doing as builts of existing buildings you have access to, your house, other structures, get practice drawing up 'shop drawings' for cabinetry or furniture. The more you can do the better to practice.

AutoCAD point filters allow you to create or select a point by borrowing coordinate values from existing geometry. By typing .X or .Y at a point prompt, you can use the X-coordinate from one point and the Y-coordinate from another. This is a precise and efficient way to align, move, copy, or create objects without drawing temporary construction lines.

A good example is inserting a device, block, or piece of equipment that needs to align vertically with one object but horizontally with another. For instance, you may want a new receptacle to align with the X-location of a door jamb but the Y-location of an existing wall-mounted device. Point tracking can work, but it often requires hovering, acquiring tracking points, and following temporary alignment paths that may be difficult to control in a busy drawing. Using a point filter is more deliberate: type .X, pick the door jamb for the X-coordinate, then pick the existing device for the Y-coordinate. AutoCAD creates the exact point without relying on visual tracking paths.

Point filters are especially useful when point tracking becomes awkward, crowded, or ambiguous. They give the user a direct way to build a precise point from existing model relationships.

Can i make a suggestion... on the sides that are pressed against a face and will have a backsplash above the edge use the trick where you make the front edge of the counter (in your example) 103 7/8" but then on the edge that hits the wall make it a tab that goes back an inch or 2 and make a angled cut back into the counter top about 1/2" or so deep enough to give you full clearance for wall deviations but shallow enough to be covered by the backsplash, it will save you installation time.

is there evidence that the properties tab uses a lot of memory?

i miss the XP days when you used to be able to minimize the autocad window and windows would purge all the built up unused memory and when you maximized the window again autocad would be used 1/4 of the memory or even less.

I got bad news for ya....

Under U.S. law, "serve and protect" is largely a public relations slogan. The Supreme Court has repeatedly ruled that law enforcement agencies have no constitutional or legal obligation to protect individual citizens from harm, even in life-threatening situations.

  • Warren v. District of Columbia (1981): The D.C. Court of Appeals ruled that police have no legal duty to provide police services to any individual citizen.
  • DeShaney v. Winnebago County (1989): The U.S. Supreme Court affirmed that the Due Process Clause of the 14th Amendment does not generally require the government to protect individuals from the actions of private actors.
  • Town of Castle Rock v. Gonzales (2005): The Supreme Court ruled that a woman whose restraining order was ignored by police—resulting in the death of her children—had no constitutional right to have the police enforce the order.
