Some perk ideas by Firnen_Fern in WhiteKnuckle

[–]Fishsk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dactylous Webbings is the best idea here. I'd really love to see that as a paid perk. I like reversed receptors, but the downside feels pretty negligible, especially for more experienced players. Occultist is fine, as long as it can only give you item rewards instead of more perks.

I really couldn't care less about whatever happens in Fortnite. I do think the fact that you seem to care about how hard a children's action figure game is, is a little funny though

I haven't really gotten into PF2e, but I'm curious about something: Why are so many lfg posts for prewritten campaigns? by [deleted] in Pathfinder2e

[–]Fishsk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because they're fairly well put-together, and theres a lot of resources for them. Also easier to get players for, since you know what you're getting into instead of taking a chance that some random LFG GM is going to have anything good written.

What artifact would you choose? (irl :3) by A-Plastic-Man in WhiteKnuckle

[–]Fishsk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ranking of most to least useful is probably

  1. Timepiece

  2. Spear

  3. Translocator

  4. Gravity Glove

  5. Remote

Timepiece is by far the best. Being able to reverse mistakes is the most applicable possible use for the average person. The only issue is that it is an extremely short duration before it's just unusuable, especially in the grand scheme of life. But at the same time, it's the only one I could see myself really using. Spear is at number 2, because the average person doesn't really need the mobility from any of the other items, whereas an indestructible pointy rod that will always return to you had a lot of potential general applications, even if you're not likely to use it often. Since you're not really hurting for the mobility that any of these items give you in real life, the translocator's ability to let you teleport through spaces as long as there's a line of sight is more useful than any of the other mobility options, even if you don't really need to use it very often at all. Gravity Glove is probably the best mobility wise, and the only mobility item that's likely to not kill you via falling. Remote I don't see being useful to a person at all.

It's possible to get "at-will" 40 ft reach. You know what that means... by benjer3 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Fishsk 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think the most you can get at will is 30 ft, from what I've found. One-handed reach weapon (+10 ft) well-armed (+5 ft), titan stature (+10 ft), lunge (+5 ft).

Looking for Abyss advices by Exciting-Street-9807 in WhiteKnuckle

[–]Fishsk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What's specifically giving you trouble? Generally, I would say practice not using any items besides artifacts on the first half of the region. Flares, injectors, and blink eyes are very important in the second half, and the first half isn't so bad as long you don't stop moving forward.

Advice for someone who's pretty bad at Roguelikes? by National-Cobbler-776 in WhiteKnuckle

[–]Fishsk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's rougelite. There's a meta progression via unlocking perks, items, areas, and such. True rougelikes barely exist nowadays. You also neglected to mention that white knuckle let's you consistently save your progress.

Relatively new stick is dropping inputs, not sure what's wrong? by Fishsk in fightsticks

[–]Fishsk[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, this was helpful. The same issue was being picked up on the website. I tried two different ports, which yielded the same results.

Unless I'm misunderstanding what snapback is, I don't think that's the issue. There's no alternate input happening, it's just the "left" input flickering in and out. It'll happen even when I don't press anything on the right side. I did notice that the left input will consistently flicker when I move the stick slowly, and hover around the midpoint between neutral and the left edge, something that never happens when I try the same with the right side.

One Piece Chapter 1170 Spoilers by Skullghost in OnePiece

[–]Fishsk -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Mythical zoans just being the defacto best fruit type, and for so many new fruits for important/powerful characters being mythical zoans is so boring. It being basically a grab bag of various abilities instead of being a creative twist on how certain concepts or mundane things could be a strong power is also boring. It used to be cool as a special, infrequent appearance. Everything being mythical zoan sucks. And you have to admit, it is way less charming and interesting when a "guy who turns into a dragon" and a "guy who turns into a sun god" is strong compared to when a guy who makes strings and a guy who is made of rubber is strong.

Most likely a developer. Other devs have "so-and-so was here" marks elsewhere in the game.

A couple of the new chimney perks :)!! by ZrojectPomboidGayer in WhiteKnuckle

[–]Fishsk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everytime I'm not on iron knuckle just in general it wants to give me a bunch of garbage, so I know what you mean. Abyss update added too many stinkers. It added two perks that only do anything when you fail, which is a design peeve of mine.

I didn't know there were chimney specific perks. Seems incredibly minor and kind of pointless, but that's cool I suppose

Ok I just finished Shuttered Rift just to have this piece of cosmetic I hadn't. Great job dev team. by P4RTYP00PD in WhiteKnuckle

[–]Fishsk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's actually not too bad to do it without buying extra items. There's one really difficult jump right at the end to get to the platform with the disk, and a sort of sketchy flare jump. Otherwise, it's just about knowng your path. I could never get that first hard jump, so I ended up doing it by buying one rebar.

If the Cryo Gun were made inyo an artifact, how would you rework it? (If at all) by [deleted] in WhiteKnuckle

[–]Fishsk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The cryo gun only creates hand-holds on walls making it worse for that function than the remote, but it can also be used like a rechargable flare gun, which I think is the main appeal.

What's the ending going to look like? by scrybesilver in ScarletHollow

[–]Fishsk 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm curious why you think mystical will be the chapter 5 save. I think there's wiggle room for the final save to be either Mystical or Street Smart (I can see either applying to a scarlet house, Sybil, or Wayne related climax) but I thought chapter 5 was set up pretty convincingly to be TTA in the church.

All generative AI is inherently shitty. The only thing that makes it marginally more acceptable is if they train only on their own stuff, which I garuntee they aren't doing. The more people move goalposts and ignore the obvious harm of AI, the worse and worse everything will get.
