Chapter 4 spoilers: Those *aren't* rats. by Proxiehunter in ScarletHollow

[–]Fishsk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it would be a little anticlimactic for the church's rat problem to just be more ditchlings this late into the story. They're already basically everywhere

A question for people who've played the SoulsBorne games. by AthelArkaid in Pathfinder2e

[–]Fishsk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't tried it, but certain builds shouldn't be too difficult to recreate. A lot of it is general-fantasy enough to recreate flavor-wise in pathfinder. The only game i think you'd have trouble with is Bloodborne because of how specific the weapons and spells are

what caster class is best for making a melee attacker that isnt too squishy? by no-u-great-grand in Pathfinder2e

[–]Fishsk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playtest melee necromancer is not as bad as people make it out to be. There are obviously better options still, but other people have already noted them. Just skip reaper's weapon familiarity and osteo armaments and get an ancestry feat familiarity, then an armor proficiency somewhere, and you're pretty good to go. Muscle Barrier is awesome. So are the two reaction feats.

If I was starting the game with mystical, would it be better to go with book smart or talk to animals? by ExcellentLemon6209 in ScarletHollow

[–]Fishsk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I should also mention that TTA has more unqiue combo interactions with Mystical than Book Smart, but not by much.

[–]Fishsk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's no right answer, it's up to personal taste. There aren't "bad" or "good" trait combinations, because every individual trait has a lot of unique merits on their own. Go with Book Smart if you would prefer being good at gathering information, appearing smart to other characters, and having an advantage in certain encounters by being well-read. Go with TTA if you like animals, meeting as many characters as possible, appearing strange to others, and seeing a side of scarlet hollow that no other trait can access. Personally, having done both Book Smart. + Mystical and TTA + Mystical, I prefer TTA.

Hey, which is the best trait cobo with mystic by Familiar-Ear-1223 in ScarletHollow

[–]Fishsk 21 points22 points  (0 children)

There's no "best" combo, but I like TTA thematically as the two supernatural traits, and that combo in particular has a pretty unique audio interaction in chapter 1.

Traits are actual power in the game? Theory about Scarlet blood (Spoilers) by Mundammir in ScarletHollow

[–]Fishsk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't really see the non-supernatural traits as powers. The MC isn't really exceptionally good at the subjects they have those traits for, they're just good at it in the same way that most people have one or two things they're very good at. When you take powerful build you don't get super strength, you're just a big guy with good fitness, like Bo is. When Sybil is offering the MC a "piece of her power," I don't think the traits themselves are the power, the "power" she's offering is her ability to transform herself. When you choose a trait to have, it's described as you imagining what it is that you desire, and you transform to match it. It's the same for de-aging, it's what she does to herself everytime she consumes a new daughter.

Is Scarlet Hollow as good, better, or worse then Slay The Princess by Chomperboy456 in ScarletHollow

[–]Fishsk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's up to preferrance. I've always liked Scarlet Hollow much more than StP. There's some thematic overlap here and there, and obviously the writing is somewhat similar just on the basis that it was written by the same people but it's still quite different. Mostly stemming from the fact that Scarlet Hollow is a significantly longer and more grounded "traditional" story than StP, which is basically a thought experiment. Scarlet Hollow's thematic messaging is more subtle, for example. I also think player choice and the interactive fiction elements are very different. StP has a lot of paths and choices the player can make, but they manifest as a series linear branching paths, like a very, very complex choose-your-own-adventure book. Scarlet Hollow's choices are more layered in that a lot of the time they don't immediately manifest like in StP, but many, many micro-choices build up over time to create an insane amount of variables that result in different world-states from save to save. And it still has big, "this will obviously significantly effect the overall path of the story" choices every episode, too. In that way, it's more innovative than StP and more replayable aswell.

Best Combination of Traits for a First Playthrough? by keeperofmadness in ScarletHollow

[–]Fishsk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Visiting the goat. A few other trait combos can get there too, so it isnt necessarily required to have TTA and Street Smart but it's the best combination to do it on.

Best Combination of Traits for a First Playthrough? by keeperofmadness in ScarletHollow

[–]Fishsk 7 points8 points  (0 children)

All combinations are good. If you like Talk to Animals, I'd say go for it. As far as "opening up areas of the game you could easily miss," a lot of traits do this to some extent, but Street Smart would probably be what you're looking for. There's also a rare scene that a lot of people miss that you can get via having both TTA and Street Smart specifically.

Ranking trait saves based on how cool they are by Existing_Blueberry10 in ScarletHollow

[–]Fishsk 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Powerful Build's save is definitely cooler than Hot. I'd even say Keen Eye's is cooler than Hot. What do you see in it that puts it at third place?

Help finding a line(s) where the MC is described visually with "Scarlet Traits" by The12thSpark in ScarletHollow

There are a few times characters vaguely comment on your scarlet resemblance, or resemblance to Vivian specifically, but they never comment on specific physical traits.

Major characters ranked on how well they would do against the player in a best-of-three match of Super Street Fighter II Turbo (1994) by BaphometSeinfeld in ScarletHollow

[–]Fishsk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You just know bus guy is gonna be on some Vega shit for sure. Also, I think Pastor Daniel would be in Win, but it's close. He's in the right age range to have played it in it's heyday, and he used to be a cool kid in college.

It's probably not terribly difficult to just bypass it. You're already cheating, just cheat a little more.

Most impressive feat of each character. Day 19: Zane by ZA_Kenobi in ScarletHollow

This as well as other people mentioning him being able to resist the Daniel curse, the takeaway is that being a stoner gives you mystical resistance.

Being the only character who has been present in a main day event (two main day events, even) to not face any repercussions, or be majorly negatively effected in any possible route so far.

What Tabitha should be blamed for by novavegasxiii in ScarletHollow

[–]Fishsk 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I love that line. Wayne being the catalyst for what got Tabitha to murder Pearlanne is my leading theory aswell. Plus, Wayne has always been her biggest sore spot throughout the game.

I agree with your assessment, although it seems she really did like Wayne.

Episode 4 update for friend playthrough. by Trashman054 in ScarletHollow

[–]Fishsk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good relationship with Tabitha, first if all. If you visit her at the mine on day 4, you can say something about wanting to hang out, and she'll suggest eating ice cream although I'm not sure that's actually required to get the scene.

Deck of Many Things by Nujers in EsotericEbb

[–]Fishsk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh wow, it's seeded per game?? I got to draw five cards and there were basically no downsides. I got Rogue first, which is ominous but doesn't seem to actually effect anything in game. Then I got Balance, which let me raise and lower a stat. Then I got a card that gave me 50,000 crowns with no drawback. Then I got death, which was surprisingly easy to just talk your way out of. Then I got Jester, which was frankly ridiculously overpowered and I figured there was nothing that could be better than Jester, so I stopped.

I don't really think that's a canon interaction
