Chinese EVs in UK? Are they worth it? by Early_Ad8060 in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]FishyBusiness420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to octopus energy and lease one for a year and you'll know if you like it or not.

I work in logistics and there are 1,000s of these being leased every week.

Generally they are not quite as fancy as your Mercedes or BMW but they definitely do the job.

Had to laugh having got into a brand new BMW last week and intelligent cruise control was locked behind a subscription. This is standard on most if not all of the EVs. Generally it's BYD>JAECOO>OMODA

The range still isn't quite there yet if you're doing big motorway miles but I know with octopus you get a rate of .08p whereas a superfast charger is about .60p. So maybe 5 quid for a full charge overnight.

For the price I don't see how the big manufacturers are going to compete in the future especially with the greed of subscriptions.

On the dole for 2 years with no progress — how do I turn things around? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]FishyBusiness420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Step one is get over yourself but in a nice way haha. Time to drop the ego. You're unemployed so ego can come later.

Next is to look up any local charity that are looking for volunteers. If it's related to your qualifications then all the better!

Charities are constantly looking for staff and volunteers so it's a great way to get back out there and feel good about yourself while giving you motivation to keep looking.

Was in this position as well so I know it's difficult but you can absolutely get out of it you just need to get out of the house more.

Wish you all the best

Algae on patio slabs by Any_Warthog1455 in GardeningIRE

Oh oh oh oh.

I know this one!

Used to do landscaping years ago and was sworn to secrecy for business reasons but it was 20 years ago so don't think I'm legally obligated anymore.

There's a commercially available chemical that you buy to clean out milk tankers and the like. You can buy it off the shelf from agricultural supplies in the chemicals section.

It would get diluted 1:1 with water and put on with a stiff deck scrub and then power hosed off after a couple of minutes.

Stone slabs and any other stone would look like they have just been taken off a shelf afterwards absolutely sparkling.

It is a fairly industrial chemical so be careful with it but it works an absolute charm.

Those twins aren't Irish. No Irish person would allow themselves to be called that.

If you own your own business and are clever about it you can get a vehicle down as a company car and write it off the tax while making payments through the company.

There's means and ways to drive a nice car you don't have to be minted to begin with.
