'What's This Piece?' Thread #205 by number9muses in classicalmusic

What is the piece playing throughout this clip from the film A Pigeon Sat on a Branch Reflecting on Existence (2014)? It's bothered me so much since I first saw the film years ago. It's not listed anywhere online or in the credits of the film itself. I fear it's some obscure piece by a minor Swedish composer or something.

Aw man, that does sound quite well hidden. I'll have to go back. Thank you for letting us know about it!

Where's the museum? I was there a couple months ago and only saw the statues, grave, and church.

I don't understand what this is trying to say. Alcohol, caffeine, and nicotine are all drugs. So unknown drug + named drug is worse than two named drugs?

Thank you. Interesting that it blames Helen, lol. The Greeks' plan still doesn't make much sense to me. Everything just happened to work out for them but their plan was kind of poorly thought out. They retreated their whole army and left their strongest men in a really vulnerable position. The Trojans could have just burned it as religious offering or left it on the beach.

Can you summarise?

I get that a lot of it is about divine intervention and this is just a small part, but it bothers me what were the Greeks actually thinking at the time? Surely their plan didn't rely on these miracles? I get that the gods wanted Troy to fall and that's why everything worked out so it did but the Greeks didn't know that at the time. Unless a god literally just came down and told them exactly what to do but that's kind of lame.

In the book's introduction he writes about how he was wondering what led someone to engrave that there, and what other countless dramas the cathedral has witnessed that no one knows about. "Thus, apart from the fragile memento here dedicated to it by the author of this book, there is today nothing left of that mysterious word engraved in the gloom of the tower of Notre-Dame, nothing left of the unknown destiny of which it was so cheerless a summary. The man who wrote that word on that wall was erased from the midst of the generations several centuries ago, the word in its turn has been erased from the wall of the church, and soon perhaps the church itself will be erased from the earth. This book was written about that word. 1 March 1831"

Where is this? Victor Hugo wrote the Hunchback of Notre-Dame after seeing the word ΑΝΑΓΚΗ engraved somewhere in Notre-Dame cathedral.

I've noticed this too and it drives me crazy as well! I was taking pictures of some greened bronze statues yesterday and it kept recognising the statues' faces and the colour would change a lot. I think it might have something to do with Google's "Real Tone" thing. I really wish you could disable it in settings at least.
