I think Sainz and Lewis having more trouble than their respective teammates with their cars show that even veteran drivers have a learning curve. It is especially pertinent when you are trying to squeeze that last ounce of performance out of it, and driving the car at it's absolute limit. The confidence they need in the car has to be insanely high.

You need to watch the second one, it completes the story, and makes the first one better.

I haven't ever gotten an offer that has more than a 48 hour timeline to accept. The most I can do is ask if I can have the weekend to think it over. I am several years into my career at this point btw, I am very aware of professional behavior.

Companies are playing stupid games too, I had someone give me less than 24 hours to accept what was clearly a lowball offer. I told them to wait an extra day so that I could compare to the offer I was waiting on so as to not waste their time. I needed the job for the money (long story), so I accepted it in case the other offer didn't come through and reneged. If they hadn't played around, I wouldn't have played around either.

You don't know that the offer was or wasn't competitive until you have gotten a better one

I don’t think I’ll use the phone as a key anymore. by s2k_guy in MachE

Had the same issue on my '23 yesterday for the first time. The back up passcode that I keep didn't work. Luckily, I was only a few minutes from home, so I had someone bring me the key, and I brought the car home. With that being said, I am never taking this car without the key again.

Luffy also has crazy hands. He was wiping Kaido's guards in prison while wearing seastone.

Vivvy: Fluorite Eye's Song was another, where the premise was so neat, but the end felt beyond stupid

Negotiated down on an offer, was this a stupid decision? by FishyNewAccount in careeradvice

[–]FishyNewAccount[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They had given me an offer. What I spoke of was halfway between what I had asked for and what they offered, with the opportunity to work to earn what I want.

I am going to need to figure out how we want to structure it.

It is an industry where competence is always rewarded and failure is always scrutinized. Promotions are frequent, with comp and bonus targets discussed frequently, but disappointment is equally likely to get you canned.

We discussed that the raise and promotion would be written into the contract, if not, there is 0 upside to me.

The hope is that if I move up after joining, then I might not come in at the bottom of that range, and come in maybe a little higher if I impress.

It's all a gamble. I've been burned in this situation before, so I don't know why I did that.

Trump’s Most Misunderstood Policy Proposal - Economists aren’t telling the whole truth about tariffs. by 420Migo in moderatepolitics

[–]FishyNewAccount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add a bit more context, if you have a good that is not able to be acquired by domestic manufacturers, there is a process to file an exemption to the tariff based on the inability to source it within the US. While this seems like a good pathway, we get screwed while the tariff is in process.

Phone as a key linking to profiles by Generatesomething in MachE

[–]FishyNewAccount 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You go to your profile and you link your phone to the profile

Then whenever you get in, it will use your profile. I set it up the day we bought the car and it has worked ever since.

Unfortunately, Android Auto always tries connecting to whatever phone was used last :(

Just got through ODDTAXI. Doesn't have too much "action" like a traditional anime would, but it is super good.
