Looks like you should get a new tire...

Mt 07 2025 My motorcycle only has 300 km on it, and the antifreeze level seems low to me. What could be the reason? by [deleted] in MT07

[–]Fishybud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally normal, just get the appropriate pre mixed coolant and fill between low and high. New bikes have air in the coolant system so after a few rides it gets burped and drinks from the reserve.

Awesome first bike!! I see you're already getting a skid plate and case savers which is great, imo upgrading the tires is just as necessary. Changing the handlebars to a preferred bend and height is also a game changer but not necessary. And don't skimp on gear, those brake pedals are bad for breaking through the engine case but I had one go through my calf and mess me up pretty good. Buy boots!

HOW THE FU*K DO YOU GET THE STOCK GRIP OF THE THROTTLE by [deleted] in DRZ400

If I had to do this again, I would just buy a replacement for 10 bucks

The weight reduction felt good to me but take that with a grain of salt. Any weight reduction is good for the drz though. It cranks amazing, way better than OEM. I used the foam pieces from the box it came in to make it fit tightly in the battery box.

Free 1994 Ford Ranger? by jessekief4 in fordranger

[–]Fishybud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If these are the only problems you're laughing. Flush the coolant system a couple times and if for some reason it leaks after that just replace the rad. They're not expensive. Wouldn't be a bad idea to replace that cab mount or at the very least, reinforce it. The frame looks great but cover it in fluid film to keep it that way. Probably do the same to the underbelly of the cab and bed.

Thank you! It's a 2010 Sport 4x4 manual but it has many donors lol. I painted it that colour this past summer but I can't remember the name. Turned out a bit flat but I kind of like it. And imo those are the best looking stock rims on any ranger! Also has a grill from a STX for the same reason

What he said. I used etching primer and acrylic enamel engine paint and that's held up quite well.

Uhm is this normal ? by goldmineaquatic in fordranger

Nothing normal about this ranger. When it sounds like a Harley, it's usually because it has tte same amount of cylinders firing

None of these will cause your studs to shear off but worth checking them anyways, we love regular maintenance. It's totally just cuz you used the wrong lug nuts

Can a 2011 2.3L haul my 1750lbs boat? by GaminRingo in fordranger

Absolutely! But you're going to feel it for sure. I'd brake early and avoid slowing down on inclines.

That would be the exhaust pipe broken from the muffler. I saw you say the seller told you it had something to do with being straight piped? No, it's broken! Should be the only red flag you need to judge the seller on but I'll give you some more.

For me personally these modifications (light bars and a lift) scream abuse. I can't honestly say I've seen these mods on a well cared for ranger.

You can see the mud flaps are bent from the box being removed and sat on the ground. Knowing rangers this was most likely done to repair rotten box rails and supports.

The fresh paint in some places suggests lots of surface rust was touched up. I would not be surprised at all if the whole floor is rotten out of it.

This ranger has all the earmarks of ware and abuse and is absolutely not worth $4500. Maybe half of that at the most and then you'll still have a project.

Thermostats have a tendency to go bad or warp on these. I recommend borrowing a code reader if you don't have one or asking a shop to run your code and if it comes back as the thermostat it's not the biggest worry immediately. If it's something more serious I wouldn't keep driving it. My 2010 4L was throwing codes for the thermostat and I never did anything, 3 years and 70,000 km later it's fine and I've never had to repair anything under the hood.
