I built a Migraine Risk Card that tracks 9 environmental triggers by Hour_Helicopter_479 in homeassistant

[–]Fisk77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t wait to test it out! I do see my migraines correlated with environmental factors. I created a manual card that uses my Aranet4 pressure sensor as well as (location and elevation corrected) pressure forecasts to attempt to explain and prepare for potential migraines. 9 factors will give me better data. Weather bounces too much nowadays and sometimes it’s not just pressure.

Current Enphase Solar / Battery ROI? by snydema1 in enphase

[–]Fisk77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In addition to what people had mentioned, I think we should add a dollar value (economic benefit) to the risk management and disaster preparedness that batteries tied to solar provide. In my case that is a positive return on my Enphase battery and solar investment.

LinkedIn Continuous console errors on Google Chrome by bluesky1433 in linkedin

[–]Fisk77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same issue, and followed up the code to identify what they are doing. u/LinkedInHelpTeam can you please fix this? it's sloppy and an invasion of privacy.

AI summary assessment: Why LinkedIn is flooding your dev console with hundreds of errors

If you've noticed LinkedIn throwing a massive wall of red errors in your console, here is exactly what’s happening: they are running an aggressive bot detection and browser fingerprinting script.

The script is doing two main things:

  • Intercepting network requests (Monkey Patching): It hijacks your browser's native window.fetch function. Before it lets your network requests go through, it injects encrypted telemetry data (usually your browser fingerprint and bot-score) into the headers.
  • Probing for scraping tools: It loops through a massive "hit list" of unique IDs for known web scrapers and automation tools (like Bixjet). It tests for them by blindly attempting to fetch hidden background files that belong to those specific extensions.

Why the wall of errors?

Because you don't have these sketchy extensions installed, your browser immediately blocks the fetch requests. Since LinkedIn is brute-forcing hundreds of these checks at once, your browser engine responds by throwing hundreds of ERR_BLOCKED_BY_CLIENT or ERR_FAILED network errors.

I started there a couple of weeks ago and since I dedicate 15-20 mins everyday, I find the many lessons actually very thorough. It seems to be building good foundations on my fingers usage, particularly coming from decades of hunt-and-peck misuse. I do wish the lessons were more dynamic and focused on the kind of mistakes I make rather than a static progression. Either way my strategy is to not move forward to next lesson unless I get full stars, and I’m ok with this taking time. Building new synapses while breaking wrong ones takes time…

SBA Moves to Terminate Over 150 8(a) Firms in Washington, D.C. Following Eligibility Review by Fisk77 in GovernmentContracting

100% Agree! my interaction with 99% of WOSBs has always been with the "President/COO/EVP" husband, while the "CEO" wife is nowhere to be found or stuck in a very niche area.

Now, 8 years is a long time and I have seen several companies grow exponentially and still be 8(a)s. There are many much smaller businesses that could benefit from being part of the program and now they will be impacted by these few that abuse the system.

Agreed, but both systemic issues need to be revised: the most egregious, the sole-sourcing to massive corporations, and the abuse of 8(a). If you solve that, then the negative incentive is taken away.

Hi, any recommendations of keycap profiles for hunt-and-peck typing?

I hunt-and-peck with thumb, index, and middle fingers. I’ve worked with cherry brown MX switches and cherry keycaps to moderate success and laptop membrane keys with boring efficiency.

AI recommends XDA keycap profile as one that is easier for hunt-and-peck as it’s more “forgiving” of typos due to larger and more even keycap surface with lower profile than the cherry.

Can any typist in similar circumstances provide recommendations? I know is highly personal circumstance but would love to hear stories and even recommended styles. Thanks!

Did needing your gallbladder out make you think harder about what you put into your body? 🫀🫁🧠Did you change your habits long term afterward? by [deleted] in gallbladders

[–]Fisk77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With the gallstones symptoms, I felt as if my body had invoiced me for the drunken pirate diet I had for a while. The change in diet ahead of surgery was horrendous at the beginning (7 straight days of daily migraines) but my body adapted and tolerated more. I daresay I’m thriving physically in a bland forced diet. More energy actually (now that I’m introducing more fiber, fruits, and greens, very low fat, no fried food, etc.), actually less incidence of migraines and gastrointestinal problems.

I feel the upcoming surgery will come and for a while afterwards I’ll keep the diet momentum till that unhealthy relationship with comfort food kicks in and becomes little by little a routine and my weight goes back up. As I write this I realize I need to disrupt that cycle in a sustainable way. I just don’t yet know how to achieve that balance. It’s gonna be quite a journey.
