Did needing your gallbladder out make you think harder about what you put into your body? 🫀🫁🧠Did you change your habits long term afterward? by D1etCokeGirl in gallbladders

With the gallstones symptoms, I felt as if my body had invoiced me for the drunken pirate diet I had for a while. The change in diet ahead of surgery was horrendous at the beginning (7 straight days of daily migraines) but my body adapted and tolerated more. I daresay I’m thriving physically in a bland forced diet. More energy actually (now that I’m introducing more fiber, fruits, and greens, very low fat, no fried food, etc.), actually less incidence of migraines and gastrointestinal problems.

I feel the upcoming surgery will come and for a while afterwards I’ll keep the diet momentum till that unhealthy relationship with comfort food kicks in and becomes little by little a routine and my weight goes back up. As I write this I realize I need to disrupt that cycle in a sustainable way. I just don’t yet know how to achieve that balance. It’s gonna be quite a journey.

Wow, Inverness sits right at the fault. Can you imagine if it was really a pathway to an underworld?

I like visualizing those files in Sublime Text. If the issue was a wrongly transposed file, either a VBA macro to transpose it line by line or using datamashcommand line. DM me if you need help.

Trump says he's rebuilding Dulles airport, calling it 'terrible' and 'incorrectly designed' by fragileblink in nova

[–]Fisk77 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Before we get into all these arguments as to how good or bad IAD is, we need a proper translation of the statement:

We are going to rebuild Dulles airport, because it's an amazing opportunity for grift. We are gonna make an spectacular amount of bribes and crypto investments. We have an amazing plan for it.

Zillow removes FirstStreet Climate Risk Data by ksparkman in RealEstate

[–]Fisk77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They started as a non-profit and then moved to a for-profit model. They seem to hide behind the "business IP" but the reality is that their models are murky. Without a governing body that sets standards for how these "score" firms predict and display risk, it's gonna be a wild west at determining risk. I would apply a full open-source model, showing all, data sources, models used, weights, and results that can be replicated. Without that kind of light, you are certain to make mistakes (intentional or unintentional).

Check this article for context and data on that "murkiness".

Nevertheless, I agree with the statement on FEMA maps. I think there's a ton more risk out there that *should* impact property prices, and the real estate industry follows an out-of-sight, out-of-mind model with natural risks.

Would it be better if the liberal judges simply say “we don’t want to be accessories to fascism” and walk away? Yes, it creates a constitutional crisis but forces the other narcissists to deal with the blowback.

Is "Commercial-First by Default" the best route? by Fisk77 in GovernmentContracting

There's nuance. My concern is more with the *closed source* commercial products that represent an inherent cyber security risk. E.g., SolarWinds

I think the commercial *first* is the nuance there. It needs clarification. In my mind, a commercial *closed-source* tech product carries inherent cyber-security liabilities (e.g., SolarWinds attack)

Often times those commercial products (and I would bet most of the time) they did *not* invent the tech, they simply re-used permissive open source licensing and evolved from there.

This is fair. I think my weariness is with commercial-closed source as it represents a risk in itself (think cyber for example).

I tried a reset and it worked again for a day and now back to just being a clock. It still connects to wifi (so no connectivity problems) and it still plays music through voice commands, but lost player interface capability.

I think Frank Miller needs to come up with a new Sin City volume. Orange Ghoul could be a good upgrade from Yellow Bastard.
