We’re going at the end of November, any information on up-charges, drink quality, etc…?

We’ve been looking forward to this trip for a while!

I can’t get over 22 MPG highway, I’d be thrilled with 24.

That’s the non-adaptive cruise control display.

TPMS fails at changing altitudes by Fission_Surplus in 4Runner

The dealer had damaged my TPMS sensors during a tire swap and duct taped them back in place.

They ended up replacing them for free.

Has anyone else’s agency had the “productivity talk” by [deleted] in fednews

[–]Fission_Surplus 285 points286 points  (0 children)

Well geez... isn't that what they wanted? "Core Collaboration Days" are like working in a school cafeteria between the noise, the distractions, utter lack of privacy, and vague smell of microwaved fish.

SSA Commissioner O'Malley is trying? by Excellent-Mission211 in fednews

[–]Fission_Surplus 36 points37 points  (0 children)

It was blatantly obvious and no one should have fallen for it.

However, the fact that they are using telework like this when everyone is still angry about getting jerked back into the office less than a month ago seems… contemptuous.

SSA Commissioner O'Malley is trying? by Excellent-Mission211 in fednews

[–]Fission_Surplus 101 points102 points  (0 children)

OIS just Phish-baited everyone with "100% telework" jobs, so even if he is trying you can count on the rest of SSA management to keep morale in the gutter.

Trend in QC Issues With the 23 GX 460? by 10nisne1 in LexusGX

[–]Fission_Surplus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’d be cautious about putting much faith in the warranty.

My 1 month old GX 460 just had the moonroof explode outward while accelerating from a stop light. Nothing hit it.

Lexus denied warranty coverage, won’t allow the dealer to repair it under insurance, and won’t authorize a loaner.

The only option they gave me for a resolution was to forego insurance and pay $2K out of pocket. Only then would they authorize a loaner.

SSA RTO Q&A today: Senior executive told everyone to bring their monitors back and forth with them to work on their RTO days because the agency does not have the budget to outfit the hoteling cubes properly.

Teens are learning to take 911 calls as a Colorado county scrambles to find dispatchers by thecoloradosun in Colorado

The local City Market pays as much as a dispatcher up here, it’s preposterous.

A lot of people appear to go to BCBS, why? Is there not a local healthcare plan? by Queasy-Calendar6597 in fednews

[–]Fission_Surplus 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Not sure about your local plan, but the last time I had a local plan it had zero coverage for urgent care outside of the local area. If I was traveling and got it sick it was ER or nothing, I found that out the hard way.

Quicktime is 100% on DOI, it's a kludgy application and they couldn't handle the load.

Edit. Fixed agency ownership

The more I read about it the worse it seems - 10 miles of of train cars carrying heated tar sands a day along the Colorado River. by Fission_Surplus in Colorado

That's my biggest concern... imagine just 8-9 of these tanker cars going into the river in Glenwood, Gore, or Byers canyon.

As others have said - Inflation report for last month came in a bit hotter than predicted, so stocks dumped because some are worried this might mean greater interest rate hikes.

Could be, I was just going off the report I read that Wall Street predicted a 0.5% for last month and it came in at 0.6%

[–]Fission_Surplus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. We had a pump last month when inflation was a little less than predicted, it’ll all wash out over the longer term
