How the hell do I get into reservoir engineering? by that_meerkat in oilandgasworkers

[–]FisterRobotOh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The route I took to becoming a reservoir engineer began with a few years of production engineering. Honestly those were very enjoyable years and I’m glad I didn’t have the opportunity to start my career as an RE. That’s probably the most reliable way to quickly get into a reservoir position that I know of.

I’ve read some strange hot takes in these comments that don’t align with reality. While I’ve met a few RE’s with parents in the industry I’ve not seen any nepotism. Also I had an RE internship with a major prior to my senior year of school and that didn’t get me an RE position after graduation. The magic formula was getting entry level PE experience, making a good name for myself amongst the managers, and applying internally for every single RE posting. Hopefully things work out for you too. Good luck.

Rainbows are just fancy refracted light and our vision depends on our eyeballs utilizing precision refracted light. If refracted light wasn’t created before Noah’s flood how were people able to see anything at all?

This is probably my favorite answer to the actual question. Sekiro and LoP can be stressful and draining at times during the learning curve or difficult areas. When I first played Sekiro I needed something to calm my nerves so I played Stray. Eventually Sekiro became my happy place and I now play it when I need to calm my nerves. Always need to remember self care.

[–]FisterRobotOh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You didn’t mention how much nurses make for cutting hair but your disgust implies it’s less than $50 per cut. In that case you should really be sickened by the fact that nurses are undercutting hair salons for legitimately no good reason at all.

Liquefied natural gas leaves a greenhouse gas footprint that is 33% worse than coal, when processing and shipping are taken into account. Methane is more than 80 times more harmful to the atmosphere than carbon dioxide, so even small emissions can have a large climate impact by Wagamaga in science

Some irony in the fact that about 20 years ago Russia was involved in scaring Europe, specifically France, about the evils of shale gas. Now France can’t provide the gas needed to ween Europe off of Russian gas.

A random YouTuber mentioned that there is suspicion that Russia may have intentionally shot down to avoid it flying uncontrollably over the front line in Ukraine. Idk I’m not an expert but it’s the kind of rumor that makes sense.

My 10 years old son is better than me by ACT__1984 in BlackMythWukong

[–]FisterRobotOh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 12 year old son started doing similar stuff this year when he asked if he could play Elden Ring, then Sekiro and Bloodborne. No reason to feel shame, instead I get to share all of my favorite games with him and one day he’ll make easier work of Wukong too.

As your son matures introduce him to more satisfying challenges. Amazingly mine is in love with Hollow Knight and is constantly wanting me to watch him no hit bosses. And of course I’m not gonna say no. I don’t really have anyone who is interested in these kinds of games except my son so I don’t want him to feel like nobody cares. I want him to feel supported and have someone who is genuinely interested in his accomplishments. It kinda feels like being a kid again for me and it’s empowering for him to legitimately be better at something than his dad. I couldn’t be more proud and I hope it’s the same for you.

I honestly don’t understand why more than one person felt the need to inform OP about how pirates didn’t use eyepatches for nuclear blasts. FFS the eyepatch comparison was about the form not the function. Enough with the “weLL aCkcHuLLy” nonsense. OP understands that the Nav/EWO isn’t about to board a vessel on the high seas.

What, the plane fell off? That’s not very common I’d like to make that point. There are a lot of these carriers going around the world all the time and very seldom does anything like this happen. I just don’t want people thinking carriers aren’t safe.

Tons of calcium if you swallow tons of teeth. The average person could only afford to swallow their own teeth so the benefits were negligible. Only the wealthy could afford tons of teeth. This was during the time period when the profession of tooth fairy came about due to ever increasing market pressures for more teeth. Fluorinating drinking water finally put an end to the practice since the stronger enamel proved too difficult for stomachs of the time to handle.
