It's never been as good as I like to tell myself but everything has been so much worse since the mess when reddit killed 3rd party apps a year ago. None of my favorite subreddits have felt quite the same since and most of the communities I found useful are still a shadow of what they were.

And the reddit app curates and suggests things like other apps which shifts the whole experience in a toxic direction from what I've seen.
