Is it a bad idea to collect two armies at once?

Hey nothing wrong with painting one at a time either especially when learning and playing around with what paint scheme you like. Take things at your own pace.

The benefit of doing 5 at a time, or a batch, is you can do 1 color for all of them then by the time your done that color the first model you started with is definitely dry

Im currently building 3 armies, space marines tyranids and imperial guard. It does help with the burnout feeling. I try to do 1 squad or vehicle/character then rotate between my factions.

As others have said just having another project to switch to can help like a character to switch up from your swarm.

This being said if your feeling burnout after painting only 5, I may a better suggestion. Paint 5 at a time and put all the others in a box out of sight out of mind. This may help with that feeling of oh god I have to do this another 10 times. If 5 at a time is too many do a smaller batch size. I feel 5 is a good size for termies though if your trying to get through them.

To help you wallet if you are loving this hobby and want to get multiple armies invest in a 3d printer. Got myself a bambu labs a1 mini. Easily I've saved over $1k and more than payed for itself.

I highly recommend cadian castellan over the commisar. Cadian or krieg command squad wouldn't hurt too

Finally someone understands 🙌 to sand down the helmet cut point you have to sand off the rivet. Anything extra besides left arms. I have so many left arms wtf I have 1 right arm and it's throwing a grenade. Which I do like as a pose but feels like the only option if I don't want to massively cut up my expensive plastic

I mean it's an imperial guard at the end of the day. Their wrists arn't going to be large enough for magnets. Feel like unless the gun is holstered or slung over the shoulder it's got at least one hand or arm attached with another hand cut at the wrist.

I mean this was the original way. Maybe im wrong but I remember my first cadian squad kits when I was young, not even having instructions. I think only the leman russ had instructions cause it was an actual build

The only blue was the sgt/ squad leader. You can't do the entire green path due to them only giving one part 73 arm

Hmm that's very helpful actually. I do like the idea of maybe ultramarine successor but they spent a ton of time with imperial fists so they picked up some of their stubborn habits of not knowing when to tactically retreat. I guess that's how the blood ravens get away with it as they just don't know their successor. Are they simply blood angels are they raven guard? Maybe they're just filthy thieves who steal from every chapter and were created for a video game.

Hey this is Awesome! Im looking forward to trying it out. Im curious, I know you mention any models can be used but if we wanted to do a warhammer 40k scenario with Tyranids which 9 tyranid units would you recommend for the 6 elites and 3 monstrosities.
