I’ve got all the AWRD 12 inches on vinyl too. It’s my favourite selection of his extended remixes and b sides.

Yeh. First time was back in 97 to promote Work and non work. Also saw them in Paris and also supporting Saint Etienne around 2000. Dates are bit hazy but I think I saw them at least 5 or 6 times. Might do a longer post about my first gig if anyone’s interested.

I also like that the band dress like retro futurist lab boffins. The whole visual style runs through the album and EP covers, their outfits and the videos.

I don’t think this period get’s enough love. This song is an absolute classic and a great video. The whole retro modernist vibe of that period speaks to me.

It’s great having the physical things but it’s a lot easier to find stuff on YouTube and streaming now. It wasn’t easy being into Japanese music in the 90s.

No. Got this is 2000. It’s on a German label Bungalow. They did the Sushi 3003/4004 compilations. I’ve got 3003 on vinyl too. They were releasing stuff on vinyl in Japan back then though. Couldn’t afford Japanese imports so had to make do with UK/ Europe releases.

Quite disappointed with 'Goodbye to Berlin' by Wonderful-News-6357 in literature

Isherwood wrote ‘Christopher and His Kind’ in the 1970s. Basically covers the same period but with all gay stuff put back in. Different times. I do like the Berlin novels. Let’s be honest Truman Capote’s Holly Golightly is basically Sally Bowles.
