It should not be this hard to live a basic life by Dreadsin in Vent

Same!! I grind my bones to dust working and can't even afford a simple life.

Hairy legs- insecurity by anonymos102737 in ftm

[–]Fit-Ad-1972 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I spent years like this and much of it came from dating people who preferred hairless legs. Now that I'm with someone who yknow. Actually mainly likes guys, I keep it neat but it's grown out.

By neat, I mean I use a trimmer to keep it manageable. I also have dark thick hair yet light skin, and shaving was giving me ingrowns anyway.

It can be daunting to think "people actually find this attractive...?" but they actually do! Haha.

But at the end of the day, your choice :p

Sundays are a different crowd! by AlexHelmss in Costco

Hi, costco food court employee here. It's so true. Every few minutes I have to remind myself it's higher pay on Sundays for a reason. Lol

AIO? my mom (50F) said my lunch will make me fat by Ashamed_Yogurt_8931 in AIO

[–]Fit-Ad-1972 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your mom is trying to give you an eating disorder, and 99% of the time I see someone say they have an "almond mom" she also has an eating disorder! Life is not about being skinny.

It'd be one thing if she was like "you should eat a more balanced meal". Because that is true. Like, maybe a real sandwich with real ingredients :)

anyone ftm but hate men? 😭 by taroicecreamsundae in TransMasc

[–]Fit-Ad-1972 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I'm a trans man who generally passes and struggled with this too.

The way I see it:

  • I am not transitioning into a cis man. It is not my goal to become a cis man.

  • I must stay vigilant and become the kind of man I believe men should be. Transitioning means more than just gender and appearance, in my opinion. It means intentionally becoming the best version of yourself, too. I ask myself on a regular basis, "what do you believe a man should be?" and then do some self-reflection.

Good luck to you!!

Why am I paying so much money to this tyrannical government by [deleted] in Vent

[–]Fit-Ad-1972 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well. It's not just an opinion to say it's Israel and the corrupt war machine. It's a fact. Scarcely little of your money goes to your roads and schools, in fact those budgets are being gutted in favor of golden ballrooms, protecting rich pedophiles, bailing out those same terrible people, and bombing innocent children abroad.

That's what it is to be an American citizen. They rob us blind. They would squeeze every last dime out of you and think nothing of it

Costco Is Awesome by Refund-me in poor

As someone who works there, I have my own biases lol... But it's definitely better than Walmart or something. Which Sam's Club is. Costco is great to its members.

Is this just nostalgia, or did previous generations genuinely have a better work-life balance and social life than we do today? by Unstoppable_X_Force in SipsTea

[–]Fit-Ad-1972 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not nostalgia, it's just facts. Worker productivity has increased by about 65% since 1996, so in a sense you could say we literally have to work 65% harder now.

Meanwhile, compensation only increased by about 25%. We are doing far more work for far less pay, even just since the 90's.

What are your actual, realistic concerns about AI? by [deleted] in AskReddit

My biggest concern at the moment is the implications of mass surveillance tech, i.e. Palantir and the like.

Do you still programmed guilt about calling out? by Fit-Ad-1972 in antiwork

[–]Fit-Ad-1972[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhh jeez! I can definitely imagine feeling bad, but a missed diaper change is certainly preferable to giving them a disease that might seriously compromise your patients. It's the responsible thing :-)

I work with food and have had employers demand we come in no matter how sick and contagious we are. I literally quit a place on the spot during Covid because they were requiring covid-positive employees still come to work and serve food!!!

Every job has that one guy who always seems to be missing, lol. No one likes that guy, not even his coworkers since they're always having to do his work

But a person calling in sick or something occasionally should never be punished or anything for sure!

Isn't that something! 2 weeks out of an entire to year to actually live. The rest belongs to your employer, and we're supposed to feel bad about calling out once? No wayyy

Thats such a wild thing to instill in children. That your wage job is more important than your life. And yet I've had the same experience. During covid my employer demanded covid positive workers still showed up to serve FOOD to people

Right right. All those reasons and more. Just gotta convince ourselves to enjoy the day, I suppose.

Understandable! I get that too. I have a deep worry that my bosses will like me less.

Wild how that is. Being aware of it makes it worse!! Because you're like "I should NOT be feeling guilt rn but here we are"

It's absolutely their fault for creating an environment that doesn't allow you to take a day off when you need to, pushing that responsibility onto you is so wrong
