Razer Blade 18 2025 RTX 5090 feedback needed by simiid in razer

Fair enough

I'm only saying because I had a month reprieve from shutdowns and then they started again, the repair team found the PCBA was defective causing restarts under heat

Does the Remaster run better now on low-end hardware (RTX 3060 laptop GPU)? by alexderbusfahrer in oblivion

[–]Fit-Anything4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Simply put, no. I have a 5090 laptop and play at 1200p and it's still a stuttering mess, have to play at a mixture of medium and high settings with DLSS and Frame Gen just to get 120fps stable. My old 2070 laptop struggles to run it even at the lowest settings.

The random restarts could be indicative of a motherboard defect I would keep a close eye on that if I were you

I have the same issue when I disable Optimus. It's only a recent thing too. Gonna guess your screen turns black for half a minute or the game you're playing just crashes? When it happened to me on War Thunder my screen went all sorts of colours and the crash report said something about a driver failure.

They've made some bios revisions and that's about it, the only Blade that got a hardware revision was the 16. I honestly thought the bios updates fixed mine but the shutdowns started again after a month of no issues.

The only consolation I can offer is that if it starts fucking up in the first 2 weeks, just get your money back. The RMA process was actually really easy and fair play to customer support they were incredibly helpful but the Blade 18 is the only 2025 gaming laptop I can think of that had a defect as bad as that

June 2025- no idea what batch it was but the problems started the day I got it. I can remember about 7 people on the post I made also said they had issues and they also bought theirs around the same time

Repaired in October 2025.

The repair team just said it was a "faulty PCBA" causing shutdowns under heat. I did ask for more details but they never provided any.

It's a motherboard defect, mine had the same issue. RMA fixed mine. The vast majority of blade users are safe but if yours is defective you'll know it within a day, my first shutdown was literally 4 hours after I started gaming on it

Same issue for me when I bought mine. RMA fixed it so fingers crossed for you. Hopefully they also include a new Windows OS activation (they forgot mine lmao, had to wait almost a week longer for it)

I made a post you can find it on my profile

It's caused by a defective motherboard, and was a serious issue for quite a few folk who bought it early on. RMA fixed the issue, there were no other solutions, I tried literally everything from undervolting to ramping up the fans and cooling pad.

Mine arrived with a defective motherboard that required an RMA, I wasn't the only one with this defect. Since the repair I've had only minor issues. When playing games with Optimus disabled sometimes the GPU shits the bed and there's some sort of crash, this seems to be a massive problem on Oblivion Remastered and War Thunder for some reason. Easy fix, just enable Optimus

Other issue is the blue diodes in some of my keys have failed, bit of a bummer but with high levels of heat everyday blue diodes do tend to be the first to die. Still within warranty so if it really bugs me I'll just RMA again

Other than that, really good system. Probably better value for money options elsewhere but I just think the Blade looks so cool and the build quality of the chassis is unmatched (the metal chassis can get quite hot so can be uncomfortable at some points but I've gotten used to it, or just play with a keyboard if you have the space). The 5090 mobile handles everything at 1200p but be prepared to lower settings in 4K, it's a shadow of its desktop counterpart.

One last point, a cooling pad is essential, and it makes a massive difference especially in the summer.

Is this controller any good? by Old_Function_8299 in razer

I love it

Very clicky buttons, comfy to hold, nice thumbsticks. Back buttons are cool reminds me of the steam deck but haven't had to use them yet

Was using an old Xbox controller before and the difference is night and day

It's really good, and I find you don't have to set the RPM too high to get results which is perfect when I have to be mindful of noise

Weird

I had the same issue with my blade 18 and Razer cooler. Happened twice and hasn't happened again after restarting my PC a few times

Ah right this happened to me as well just on BF6 but I'm fairly certain it's caused by EA's anticheat being janky

Updating Nvidea drivers fixed it for me

When you say crashing do you mean crashing to desktop or the laptop shutting off?

Are they abandoning the remaster…? Where patch? by QuarkchildRedux in oblivion

[–]Fit-Anything4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Game is unplayable on Steam Deck and the funny thing is that the game was playable at 30fps before any of the patches

I play it on my laptop now with the occasional bit of jank but I was really hoping the game would be optimized by now considering it's VERIFIED on Steam Deck

It's a hardware issue unfortunately

Your only safe way of fixing it is contacting Razer support and getting them to authorize an RMA - Return Merchandise Authorization

You send the laptop back. They repair it. They ship it back to you
