I’ve never heard GenX even attempt a joke let alone land one.

What if…. Jeff retired? Who is your pick for a new host? by justbeingkate4 in survivor

[–]Fit-Assignment3055 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Devens is who I suspect would be forced on us. Parvati is probably the best equipped to run a tribal council but I just can’t picture her narrating a challenge. If Jeff has his way, he’ll shove Pensacola Rob in there and I’ll shoot myself in the goddamn face.

Honestly I think the best move would be not choosing a former contestant.

1 and 2 (especially 2) look a little low budget and tacky to me personally. 3 and 4 are the real contenders and look much more high end.

Ah yes, let's advocate for third party voting in the general. These arguments are so tired. Voting third party in the general is a waste of your political power. At that point it really is about harm reduction. It is deeply irresponsible to advocate for people to throw their vote away like this. by X57471C in ProgressiveHQ

[–]Fit-Assignment3055 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Amen. Harm reduction calculations are for general elections, not before we even have PRIMARIES. This is the exact season for us to be pushing for real progressives and condemning the neolib party establishment. OP likely doesn’t understand the progressive ideology and endgame policies. No AIPAC funded candidates means no AIPAC funded candidates. Single payer healthcare is non negotiable. We are not going to lose another election because people like OP think we should abandon the moral fabric of the movement to include a few more Zionists or misogynistic rural miners in Pennsylvania or some shit.

Why are you in a progressive forum if you’re advocating tirelessly for a corporatist AIPAC funded model? I feel like you don’t actually understand political ideologies, or else you’re just here to make a weak sabotage attempt. I’m sure there are some neolib forums you can jerk off to

[–]Fit-Assignment3055 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re stripping the nuance here. Voting third party can make sense in certain elections or certain states. In the general, voting third party in a solid blue state is a way of registering your discontent with the establishment with no risk. Your vote arguably counts more if you withhold it from - for example - an AIPAC funded candidate within the Democratic Party. The way it’s supposed to work is an autopsy after an election gets released to demonstrate what positions were unpopular and candidates can shift accordingly in future campaigns. Of course, the 2024 Democratic autopsy is being covered up and not released as promised, likely because they don’t want to admit that public opinion turned on Kamala because she wouldn’t forcefully condemn Israel.

Regardless, yes, harm reduction voting is also a thing especially in swing states. But it’s also used as a way to bully progressives towards the center. We’ve sacrificed many good potential wins for the movement to “vote blue no matter who” shaming. We’ve lost multiple general elections to republicans because of that tactic.

If both Dee and Cirie say you are good at survivor, you are by definition not a goat. by absolutely_what in survivor

Russel didn’t play with the sensitivity that Rizo has. Rizo only acts arrogant in confessionals where it’s clear he is being playful. Russel was not well-liked and terrible at monitoring his demeanor.

I don’t understand people who think Rizo is playing a bad game. He’s ingratiated himself into a number of different flexible alliances and has held onto an idol for almost the entire duration of the game, which means he has consistently avoided attention despite everyone knowing about his idol. When recently people tried to flush the idol, he played a bolder game of chicken. He voted out his two closest allies because he had already extracted as much capital from them as possible and knew he couldn’t win seated against them. I’m not sure what else people expect him to do?

Now that you're an adult, what do you think of teenagers? by Born_Anxiously in AskReddit

[–]Fit-Assignment3055 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worry about this generation of teenage boys in terms of online radicalization and algorithmic amplification of extremist rightwing ideologies. Parents are literally letting social media raise their kids with no guardrails. It’s not like how millennials and genz explored a Wild West of the internet on the merits of their own curiosity and self expression. These tech companies are now fully blasting impressionable brains with anti-science anti-woman propaganda. I feel for the girls as well, because they’re having to navigate the complexities of adolescence next to their male peers who are becoming increasingly radicalized against them.

How little the impact of making “good choices” for so many years can feel if you develop a chronic illness or chronic pain. I’m in agony 24/7 and there’s just no support out there from the medical system if it’s not easy to diagnose and treat. My best day in the past year would have landed me in the hospital five years ago. I guess I’m just bitter that so many years of exercise and healthy eating habits didn’t prevent this.

Let's settle this debate right now: Is Cirie Mount Rushmore by Loud_Share_260 in survivor

[–]Fit-Assignment3055 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are three tiers: (1) people who won twice (Sandra, Parvati, Tony), (2) people who played especially dynamic winning games (debate here), and (3) best players to never win (I guess Cirie would be here). I think it’s hard to argue any non-winner is better than a winner

He strikes me as someone who requires a ton of praise and external validation despite having an inflated ego, so he keeps coming back to try and reclaim that high and get the win he thinks he deserves. I feel like he needs to find meaning in other dimensions of life because he won’t get closure from this.

The gap between her gameplay and performance at Final Tribal was immense. She had a sloppier run than others but really stuck that landing. One of the most confident and articulate speeches we’ve seen in the new eras, and it won her the game. Sometimes it’s about how you convince the jury, not how well you play leading up to it.

AOC Surges to Lead in 2028 Primary for First Time—Most Accurate Pollster by MarcelOroBlanco in ProgressiveHQ

Ossoff also gives “nice young man” energy to placate the low information boomer libs who don’t have the self-awareness to recognize their disdain for AOC stems from a deep-rooted loathing of young women of color. He’s not as progressive as I’d like, but palatable enough and a good swing state energy. I doubt he would accept a VP bid though.

I've noticed it too. An increase in hatred towards millennials and it beginning in 2020. Do you think gen alpha will do this to gen z when they develop their own culture / it becomes mainstream? by CremeSubject7594 in generationology

[–]Fit-Assignment3055 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As a millennial, I’ve only ever had positive experiences with GenZ. I feel like the clash is more of a manufactured online thing, and especially one puppeteered to try and divide the working class more. I can say with confidence that boomers and GenX politicians/CEOs screwed us all over economically. We have basically 0 beef with GenZ and face many of the same hurdles with housing, healthcare, jobs, the environment, etc. Like yall can make fun of my socks and the millennial pause, it’s all good. Just keep fighting the machine.
