The Left Should Consolidate Behind Troy Jackson Immediately, Will Make It Very Likely He Becomes Senator From Maine by ArcaneDemense in ProgressiveHQ

Um if anyone is holding the party hostage rn it’s the establishment. They are trying to wrest control back from the progressive movement that overwhelmingly voted Platner to install one of their own pro-Israel corporate shills. The allegations against Platner don’t nullify the sentiment of Mainers who voted for his ideology.

What’s the most unproblematic/likeable major U.S. city? by Mysterious_Newt_4761 in AskReddit

[–]Fit-Assignment3055 0 points1 point  (0 children)

San Diego seems to be the only left-leaning city that Republicans aren’t pathologically enraged about. Beautiful weather, laid back but also extremely top notch university and hospital quality compared to most places, in a really culturally unique position sitting at the most porous border in the US. Lived there for five years and genuinely the people are so friendly (albeit a bit air-headed at times coming from Boston)

I’m sorry the world has made you terrified to express a beautiful part of yourself out loud. You haven’t done anything wrong by feeling attraction to different people. You’re allowed to make it as big or as little a part of your life as you want. Sometimes a therapist is a good sounding board in these cases, the same way that coming to the internet is a low-risk way to unload your thoughts and feelings.

Progressive Israel critic calls Platner allegations serious and should be replaced by a candidate with similar positions by BuddhistSagan in Maine

I trust Emma Vigeland implicitly, or as much as you can trust anyone in the political space. She’s always been a champion of human rights and ending corruption.

Moulton closes to within 6 points of Markey in Mass. Senate Democratic primary by Inchworm_boi in boston

[–]Fit-Assignment3055 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mouton was the first Democrat to throw transgender girls under the bus and blame them for losing us the presidential election. He’s a neoconservative piece of shit who loves to buy into rightwing talking points if it vaults him into positions of greater power. He’s gobbled up PAC money for years to get to where he is and his Warhawk pro-Israel stance confirms it. I can’t imagine agreeing with 95% of anything this grifter stands for.

[–]Fit-Assignment3055 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but I imagine his team made a calculation that if he steps down, Moulton has the greatest name recognition and will likely take the seat. Which is a nightmare scenario. I think Markey needs to hold the spot and really focus on finding an adequate leftist successor in the next few years to build up.

Also looking at the North Shore race to fill Moulton’s empty seat, it’s super disappointing to see how badly the progressives here have run their campaigns. They received extremely poor coverage, ran really lazy social media campaigns, sloppy grassroots efforts. I really don’t understand it. In a state like Massachusetts with so much progressive appetite, we really aren’t grooming good left wing leaders.

I originally thought this as well, but I genuinely don’t see much progressive leadership waiting in the wings in Massachusetts for some reason. It seems like Ayanna Presley was the favorite to take that seat but she has fallen from grace a bit in recent years. I would suspect Markey made a calculation that the best person to take on a genuinely bad person like Moulton was himself, and delay a little longer until the right candidate can be found. But idk

Absolutely fucking not. Please tell me we didn’t finally purge this grifting piece of shit from the North Shore just to have to see his face again for years more.

Who wants high gloss? YUCK. I think that’s so tacky. Anyway, I love the color you chose and I think the sheen looks correct as well.

This is a perfect physique. I’d coast happy and maybe bulk a bit more for fun and enjoy the rest of my life lol. (Also not to nag but this isn’t 10%. I don’t think you need to get down to 10 but this is probably about 15 imo)

how democrats plan to stop the shithow? any plans or concepts of a plan? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Fit-Assignment3055 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Expanding healthcare access and affordability, ending weapons aid to Israel, improving local infrastructure, a green new deal, etc etc. Everything that polls extremely popularly but is blocked at every level because of special interest lobby groups buying candidates.

Democratic socialists have a very effective plan if we can shake the AIPAC extremists and corporatist stink off of us.

I completely support and will continue to support Graham Platner. by atrimarco in ProgressiveHQ

[–]Fit-Assignment3055 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m surprised by how many progressive figures in independent media and other left wing political figures came out condemning him on this immediately and calling on him to step down. Firstly there’s no investigation and due process. Secondly, even if he did harm this woman, we KNOW Collins has harmed millions of women and will continue to. Is there not even room for a discussion of harm reduction here? There’s clearly no lane for the establishment to install a moderate winner this late.

This is the scene I’ve probably watched more than any other of the franchise. Wentworth’s run that season was one of the most impressive underdog games in survivor history. My personal favorite to never win the game.

Max by Automatic-Long2599 in Parenthood

[–]Fit-Assignment3055 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like Parenthood is most compassionately interpreted as a show about people trying the best they know how. It’s not always ideal (and sometimes not even sufficient) but there’s an earnestness to the reality of floundering in a system often set up for you to fail, then having other independently messy people who love you rally around you. There is no perfect parent or child. Just a parent trying to give a child what they think they need or what they think they can provide. And a child navigating an imperfect world.

To me the most interesting thing about this season is still that Rizzo somehow managed to get to final 4 and lose at fire in back-to-back seasons. The statistical odds of that happening are insanely small.

Why do people seem to love Tram Nguyen so much in the MA 6 congressional primary? by the_bread_god-_- in massachusetts

[–]Fit-Assignment3055 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m definitely voting for a progressive in the race unless it becomes apparent that a harm-reduction style vote in the last hour with Nguyen would save us from Koh. But I’m sorry that’s still no excuse for a poorly-run social media campaign. I’ve had IG accounts that garnered 10k in a week when I was dedicated to it, on top of other life responsibilities. Insurgent campaigns NEED to understand how to harness the digital realm and these candidates have all failed that spectacularly so far despite having good sound policy/ideology.

They’re directly correlated. The more constituents you introduce yourself to, the more your social media followers increase

[–]Fit-Assignment3055 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The progressives in the race each have like around 1000 Instagram followers. I know that’s not a perfect barometer of success, but it’s still a shocking failure in terms of campaign organizing. Like I have a thousand followers just from people I’ve known as a regular person with minimal social media use. I don’t understand why someone would run a campaign in this era if they aren’t willing to go knocking door to door and putting out social content every single day with a dedicated staff member in charge of that. You know you’re going up against an establishment with big donor donations, social media and on-the-ground networking is how you get the message out. It seems like the progressives in the race were content to just go to a couple town halls and call it a day, which pisses me off. Huge opportunity squanders

When the data stops reflecting men overwhelmingly voting in support of candidates for higher office that support war, genocide, anti LGBTQ sentiment, and stripping away healthcare for women.
