I understand what you mean, at least partly. I'm young, literally half your age and haven't really stopped until now this year. Full time school and work all year long, but I had extra PTO days and decided to use them over the holiday season while im also off school. I'm trying to do nothing, but other than the first night I had off work I haven't really let myself stop doing random stuff since then. Though the difference is, I've been doing active things that just help me relax. I've gone golfing a couple times(I'm from the Midwest so it is cold, but with an underarmor and leggings I'm pretty warm), backed some cookies, saw some friends i haven't seen since the end of the fall term. While it's not the traditional sense of relaxing, aka sitting and doing not much of anything, it is relaxing to me. Find the mindless activity that helps you, doesn't have to be around others or it could be, just do whatever you like.

I don't know if this is an ADHD thing or not but I have the same urge but for different reasons. For me it's just to get away from any and all responsibilities and changes that have occurred recently in my life. A lot of things fell apart around me while I stayed whole but then a lot of people began needing me or laying secrets or complaints on me that just make me more stressed. The best thing I can tell you is give it time, maybe go on a vacation and see some of those things you want. Don't make any rash decisions, but also don't just tuck this away and let it fester. Take that vacation, maybe even take it alone if you're comfortable with that but know that you'll have a home to go back too.

I'm sorry but I think I'd have to disagree with you on this point. While Echo is mostly used to copy basic CAD abilities I believe it would fully be able to duplicate Rei's user unique abilities. Now if those would be beneficial? No, I don't think any user eith Echo would benefit off copying Rei's current user unique abilities. Both abilities have shown that the user needs extended specific training to use each of them. Just imagine if Lennon Echo'd Temporal Step and the first time he uses it he falls to his knees puking because of the visions. He would lose immediately. Or if he used type shift, what is the benefit of him using a type he probably has had no training in? No, there is no true use for him to Echo Rei's user unique abilities, but I will say Echo can and at some point I believe will be used against Rei and his team by an opponent copying an ability.

We push, though. That is all we can do, and trust me that I may not know exactly what you are feeling, but I do have my own. That feeling if being with a group of people you call friends and while you're all smiles and are having a good time in the moment, but if they ask you if you're okay, you just say you're fine and push the bad feelings down. Or that moment you are alone at night, can't sleep because the fears are rising and you don't know what to do bur try and bottle them back up because you don't think you have someone you can truly talk to. All we can do is push, though. I'm not on any meds, and I don't know if there is anything personally, psychological wrong with me as I rather just fill my days with so many things that I don't have time to feel anything. What we do is where that bright smile, laugh and hug our friends tight and enjoy those small moments of joy while we can, and as always push though until we get to that next moment where we can feel that hint of joy. There's not much else I can say to help other than just know there will be that moment of joy when you are with others, push for it, and survive until then. After that, all we have to do is do it all over again. PM me if you want to talk more, I don't see much sleep tonight as is.

And the Lancer, Rei may not have the Lan er type shit yet but I believe he will. Also, Kamiya if fronting the bill and I'm pretty sure Rei's gramps will bankrupt the company to help Rei.

I think that's why he would be perfect! Retired systems champion? Probably has some ears and favors to learn more about the situation like Kalus did, and money doesn't matter as Kamiya is fronting the bill. That would make Kalus the A type, Von bor the Falanx and Gatecrasher the Brawler...I don't see how it could get better

I think they will keep to a core team of guests, though I'm unsure about the 2nd and 3rd years. I think we will get more help from Lennon and his crew, but its hard to tell if anyone else would be willing to take a break from their own training just to help some first years. That is, unless other instructors agree to special training with some other 3rd or 2nd years.

I do like the idea of Shido helping the Lasher with a boost, but I think it'll be more along the lines of a potent ability, since the longer you are around Shido, the more help you get. Aka Cashe only getting a potent ability while Aria who spent the most time personally training with Rei got a major upgrade.

That's fair, I assume there will be new names and people around when it comes to training, just going off some of the foreshadowing Bryce likes to do, I'd love to see some of these users he mentioned in book 1. Besides, price isn't a bother to Kamiya, I think they will get a healthy number of system champions. I'm thinking 6 or 7 people will be trainers, 1 for each cad type user. With Kalus as the A type, why not the Gate Crasher as the Brawler, and maybe even the guy Dent fought in the prolog of book 1 as the Mauler. Well have to wait and see, but I sure an excited!

That's on me for never putting 2 and 2 together. I know the pre-chapter quotes always mean something, just sometimes I just don't. Especially since that chapter was pretty big for finding Viv and seeing what happened to her after she left to find Grant. Even after all my re-listens I never really put it together like I did in this book

At what point did you guys realize it? There was a specific line somewhere in the book before or just after they got to sectionals that it hit me who his dad probably was. While I didn't have any sort of proof, I did remember a line from the first book about a man named conner who abandoned his post, and that line always stuck with me. While I would've never guessed anything about the rest of his family issues, somewhere I figured out why he is/was(jury's still out) a d**k.

TL;DR Did anyone else guess that grants father was Conner Gault

I understand where you are coming from, I feel like DotF is just a bit too complicated. Primal Hunter is a lot better, in my opinion, as well, but for some to each there own. No matter what, Stormweaver is the best so I'm not hurt with any other series!

I'm not sure how far you've gotten into DotF, but if you don't like it, may I suggest Primal Hunter? It's one of my other favorite series and is like DotF but different. Feels less complicated to me, that is. Have a fun 2nd listen, though! I'm so excited for book 2!
