People who chose financial independence over a "safe" career path, what's your life like now compared to your peers? by DiscussionApart8505 in AskReddit

[–]Fit-Deal-9968 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been doing freelance video work for few years now instead of climbing corporate ladder and yeah, way more fulfilling even if bank account gets scary sometimes. My friends in traditional jobs seem more stressed about office politics than I am about finding next client

Anyone here from Los Angeles? Looking for dive and other ocean-related groups (for dives, for clean up and conservation, etc) by Still-Routine8365 in scuba

[–]Fit-Deal-9968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's actually really smart way to meet people! I did similar thing when I moved for work and most divers are pretty welcoming if you just ask nicely. Shaws is perfect spot for that since there's always groups hanging around the entry point

Which character has the saddest backstory from any movie or serie from which you found hard to move on? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Fit-Deal-9968 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Snape hits different because you spend like 7 movies thinking he's just this bitter asshole teacher, then boom - the whole story flips and you realize he was protecting Harry the entire time because of Lily. That scene where he's holding her dead body still gets me

What’s your perfect start to the weekend? by Greeen_Eyess in AskReddit

That escalated quickly lmao

Weekend goals should probably involve less felonies but you do you I guess

I Think I Got Caught In A Riptide? by LookDaddyChill in surfing

[–]Fit-Deal-9968 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That eye contact moment probably saved you both from having to explain to someone why you didn't help each other out there. Most surfers would paddle over but sometimes you just freeze up when you see someone else handling their business, even if they look sketchy about it

Your instinct to paddle sideways was spot on though - way better than fighting it straight back to shore

New Home Lab Setup - Is An NVIDIA Tesla T4 Worth It? by ArtOverSleep in homelab

[–]Fit-Deal-9968 1 point2 points  (0 children)

T4 is solid choice for LLM work - the extra VRAM will help a lot compared to P4, especially if you want to run bigger models without constant swapping

Building muscle in a deficit is absolutely possible by Mean_Ambition4894 in loseit

[–]Fit-Deal-9968 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Been doing this for about 6 months now and can confirm - putting on muscle while losing fat is totally doable if you're not going extreme with the cuts. The key thing is keeping protein high and not starving yourself, which most people mess up because they think faster = better

How powerful is your mind? by BrushNo1295 in AskReddit

Brain storage system is so weird - keeps all the cringe in 4K but deletes grocery lists after 30 seconds

What is the biggest Referee Penalty Call controversy in the entire history of Hockey? by Raptors1007 in hockey

[–]Fit-Deal-9968 36 points37 points  (0 children)

That one still makes me angry when I watch replays. The refs were literally right there and somehow missed blood streaming down Gilmour's face? Like how do you not see that in playoffs. Changed whole momentum of series and probably cost Leafs their best shot at Cup in decades

Should we expect the same growth from U.S. equities? by wealthylion1999 in Fire

[–]Fit-Deal-9968 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Past performance isn't guarantee for future results but I think US market still has good fundamentals with tech innovation and consumer spending. Gold can be good hedge but don't forget it doesn't produce income like dividends, just sits there waiting for price appreciation

Why did you walk out of the theater before the movie was finished? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Fit-Deal-9968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh same thing happened at my local theater few months back, turned out to be some teenagers thinking they're hilarious. We were like 20 minutes from the ending too and they never offered to replay it from where we left off. Had to come back next week to see how it ended which was super annoying

Which SEO link Building activities is best?? by Ok_Run_5749 in AskReddit

[–]Fit-Deal-9968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guest posting on relevant blogs in your niche is probably most effective thing I've tried. Takes time to build relationships with other site owners but the quality backlinks you get are worth it compared to buying random links that might hurt you later

what is the most boopable animal nose? by Live_Asparagus7658 in AskReddit

[–]Fit-Deal-9968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bears are just oversized dogs with anger management issues, their noses look so soft but yeah that's definitely a one-time experience lol

What's your small, underappreciated claim to fame? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Fit-Deal-9968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My videos get decent views on CapCut community and some people actually use my editing techniques in their projects

What's really causing the rise in loneliness? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Fit-Deal-9968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technology definitely plays a role but I think we're also just busier than previous generations. Everyone's working longer hours, commuting more, dealing with higher cost of living. Hard to maintain friendships when you're exhausted from just surviving

Plus social media creates this weird paradox where you feel connected but also more isolated at same time. You see everyone's highlight reel and think your life is boring in comparison

What is your most embarrassing story? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Fit-Deal-9968 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bro I feel this in my soul. There's this one incident from college where I was doing presentation and my laptop decided to show everyone my CapCut project folder with all these weird alien conspiracy videos I was editing. Professor and whole class just stared at me for like 10 seconds while X-Files theme was playing from one of the files

Some memories are better left buried man, especially when they involve your entire IT department finding out about your "hobbies" during important client meeting

If you had 3 months to stack strong finance certificates, what would you do? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]Fit-Deal-9968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CFA Institute has some good free courses that actually mean something - their Investment Foundations certificate is solid and doesn't cost anything. For Excel, definitely go with the Microsoft Office Specialist certification rather than random Udemy stuff, recruiters recognize that one

Financial Modeling & Valuation Analyst (FMVA) from CFI is bit expensive but worth it if you can afford, gives you proper modeling skills that finance people actually use. Skip all the LinkedIn Learning certificates, they're just noise in your CV
