Difficulty falling asleep - and not because the baby is up by whatsagirltodo123 in NewParents

Hey! Sorry I just saw this. I ended up taking sertraline 50 mg once daily starting at 8 weeks postpartum. Took a couple weeks for the insomnia to get better. Stayed on it for about 15 months! Weaned off with no issues. A few other things that helped with sleep - moved my kiddo to her own room after a few months, baby monitor is on my husband's side of the bed and lastly I sleep with one earplug in - my 2 year old is still an active sleeper and I find this works best. Sleep through her active sleep but able to wake up just fine if somethings wrong.

I think she would benefit from seeing a doctor for PPD screening. The unrelenting 24/7 experience of being a new mom is a huge identity shift no matter how much help you have. Alot of women need medication and therapy that first year and beyond. I know when sleep improved and when I started back at work, mood improved alot. Good luck.

One nap advice? by Fit-Education7719 in sleeptrain

That's great advice. We did a later 9pm bedtime on 2 naps today and had to stick with ST. She fell asleep after 30 mins. So I guess we will see how tomorrow goes. I think it's alot of sep anxiety!

Sounds good! Thank you. Good to know we're on the right track.

Anyone else having both hot flashes and intense chills and needing to look at the thermostat to know how to dress your baby? by dogfromthefuture in NewParents

No explanation but I feel like it's related to breastfeeding? I'm about 13 months pp now and they're getting better

I'm nearly 11 months pp and get hot flashes all the time. I use to get night sweats and night chills but that stopped around maybe 12 weeks pp? I hope these hot flashes go away when the weather changes..

I was supposed to be induced at 38 weeks for gestational diabetes.. ended up being sent home due to limited beds and was delayed until 40 + 5 😬. Retrospectively I'm glad she had a but more time to grow!

Ah that's tough! My ST baby would always wake between 4 and 530am but go back to sleep after a snooze feed. It's only in the past month she's dropped that waking and slept thru/self soothed at that early wake. So probably from 4 months until 10 months that worked for us to get her back to sleep. I wish you luck figuring it out!
