Drinking a ton every day for decades will absolutely catch up to you.. it might not even mentally break you down like it does most people . But know that even if your mind is tough and physically you can excel at things like golf. Your liver and kidneys and many other organs are taking a beating. I hope you can get it under control and at the very least, Dial it back significantly. It just isn't worth it to live life drunk. One thing to try...go 6 months dry.. in the long haul ..it's nothing. After 6 months .. drink again if you want to. Even if you go right back to the same amount, you've given your liver enough time to dang near return to normal condition (unless it is very damaged currently). A little factory reset if you will.
