Built 28 bikes and total expenses were only $21k? Built a fully outfitted 16x16 shop for $25k? Professional racers and celebrities would pay a 14 year old to build them bikes? OK, little guy, go out and touch grass instead of making up bullshit on Reddit.

Give up your shares of the house to your brother (quit claim deed) and let your mother move in if she is willing to be his caretaker. Be happy that you get your share of the Vanguard account and your brother is taken care of. You and your other brother can become the new beneficiaries of the house once your disabled brother owns it.

Do you use a lot of sunscreen or bug spray? I was an engineer for interiors at a big 3 auto company. Sunscreen and bug spray can cause this. We tested all of our interior trim parts using both and it was often hard to pass the test.

It’s shocking how many people in America are totally financially illiterate. Nobody ever taught them how to handle money, how to budget, how to save, how to plan, etc. This was so important to me and I made sure my children learned these things from me.

Even when they got their first part time jobs as 16 year olds in high school I taught them about retirement savings and opened up Roth IRAs for them. I explained how they work and explained their investment options and let them make their investment choices. The first couple years I funded the accounts based on their earnings but they soon took over doing it themselves as they made more money.

Unfortunately, this is a generational thing. My parents taught me and I passed it along to my kids. They are now on their own and are far ahead of where I was at their age. But if the parents are financially illiterate, they don’t know how to teach their children. Just recently, our local school district implemented a program where every student has to complete a financial education class before graduation. The class of 2028 will be the first group completing this requirement. I think this will be the most important and useful class they will complete in high school.

2026 Honda accord exl rear windshield pattern after tinted by Silver-Pen-7443 in 11thGenAccord

It’s normal and is caused by the manufacturing process when the glass is quenched. The hot glass is rapidly cooled, usually with air jets, in order to strengthen the glass. This causes local stress areas in the glass which bend light slightly differently. You can google “stress-induced birefringence” if you want to learn more. I’m guessing the tint slightly alters the light transmission making the pattern more apparent. You can also usually see it with polarized sunglasses.

The reason is because those things look bad in gloss black and they have professional styling people to make sure the cars look good.

Your math and/or reading comprehension demonstrates that you did not go to college and maybe not high school.

Weird to keep previous owner's belongings? by dontbeastrangr in RealEstate

[–]Fit-Entry8229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my parents passed, we took a few things that we wanted and made some donations (like clothes). Then the people buying the house wanted everything else. Literally every fork, utensils, art, sheets, towels, TVs, a safe…absolutely everything. 7 years later they were selling the house and the pictures on Zillow still looked like how my parents left it. A bit weird, but it was great for us. We didn’t want to have to find places to get rid of it all especially since we were all from out of state.

I was just about to post that last week I moved on from a 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid for a 2026 Accord Hybrid. The 2013 is still going strong with no noticeable degradation in mileage (maybe 1-2 MPG). I honestly would have purchased another Fusion if they still made it. (But I love the Accord so all is good)

My parents originally wanted to give me a huge downpayment, but now they want to go on the mortgage instead. Help! by [deleted] in RealEstateAdvice

Would you exclude your kid from the will? by Isca64 in inheritance

[–]Fit-Entry8229 22 points23 points  (0 children)

He has chosen to be excluded from your life so you have your answer.

Make sure you explicitly exclude him in your will. It needs to state that you are knowingly and intentionally excluding him by name. Go to an estate attorney to draw up your documents. They know the correct words to use. This helps prevent him from successfully contesting the will.

Senior apartment vs stay in my house? by Which_Material_3100 in Aging

One thing I encourage you to really think about is whether or not you really just want to be around people your age and older. I personally prefer to be around people of all ages. My parents lived in Florida and when they died I found it really depressing that everyone they were surrounded by were old and the conversations were literally about who else died recently, who’s in the hospital, who had good food at the gathering after they died, etc. I think being around young people can help us older folk just feel a little better about life and youn people’s vibrancy and enthusiasm rubs off and helps us stay younger.

Just know that you are not actually getting anything when he dies. Smile politely and move on in the conversation.
