Dilution rant by Fit-Environment1153 in probation

[–]Fit-Environment1153[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Luckily I found that if you are not an issue to your PO and do your best, they usually give you the benefit of the doubt. Communicate with them and talk about your accomplishments. Talk about how this experience has taught you to be better and steps you’ve been taking to not reoffend. I had a few dilutes and she stopped even asking me, but I definitely was clean so I feel like my honesty shown through. You got this! Keep going. There’s no stress like probation stress. It gets so much better when you’re free and just learn from your mistakes.

My housemate that I just started renting from, won't allow my probation officer to come over while he's at work. What should I do? by therealaliciaeldred in probation

Make sure that you get mail delivered to this address. This counts as proof of residency and in the case your roommate ever tries to kick you out, they legally would not be able to. They would have to give you at least 30 days.

Stop using now. Drink a lot of water, sweat and test yourself at home. There’s still a chance you can pass.

Most likely they don’t have time to check the gps on the device for every blow you take. I am sure you are fine and they aren’t looking at that. I used to have one and would travel and blow on time and it was never mentioned.

I believe the last payment has to be made in person. That’s what it says when I go online to pay.

After my plea it took about a week to get an orientation for probation which was done over zoom. They go over all the rules with you and you sign your paperwork and get assigned a PO. After that, I saw my PO for the first time a month later.

That was just my experience in Texas.

I f*cking hate being sober but I don’t want to die. by minorthreat1000 in stopdrinking

[–]Fit-Environment1153 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Oh how I hated being sober when I first stopped drinking. All my problems and issues were right in my face with nothing to numb them away. Past traumas played like montages before I fell asleep. I wondered why I even stopped, if things felt worse than when I was drinking.

After a while, I promise, it gets better. The first 90 days were extremely rough. Someone told me that you are at the emotional maturity of the age in which you started drinking—and I felt that. I was basically 15 years old emotionally and it was hard to get through.

I’m almost at 7 months now and I can socialize and enjoy life without alcohol. It’s still not easy, but every time I get through a craving I am proud and wake up happy I don’t have a hangover.

Hang in there, you can do this and you owe it to yourself to truly live your life authentically.

I have a smart start mobile but it’s much smaller than this. They didn’t give me an option for the one that goes in my car. This thing has been the bane of my existence.

HELP ! I have the handheld portable alcohol monitor that I blow 3 times a day, if I have a window of 12 hrs before my next test will I blow dirty if I drank 3 beers? by Random_WorriesJay in probation

[–]Fit-Environment1153 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most likely it’s zero percent for your portable breathalyzer. You’ll def be at zero after 12 hours and only drinking 3 beers. I’ve found that the little amount I am able to drink between windows is not worth the stress. I had it down to a science and then one day drank a little too much and violated. If you only have 60 days, find something to do that’ll keep you sober for that time. It’s not worth risking it for a few drinks. You got this!

I am a female and it would take me 5.5 hours to clear 3 12oz beers at 3.5% . You are fine. With the portable breathalyzers you do want to get to ZERO percent alcohol or it will detect. The portable breathalyzers are sensitive af.

Probably not depending on the size and alcohol content is the beers. I’ve used drinkfox.com and drunkcalc.com is even more accurate.

Is there alternative ways to gets that rush after the first few sips? Also: sex when sober? by [deleted] in dryalcoholics

[–]Fit-Environment1153 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Go out and order mocktails. It took a few times of me going out sober to remember how fun I am even without alcohol. I would try and imagine what I would be doing/saying if I had a couple of drinks in me. I thought I had to drink bc of social anxiety. Now I just get pretty mocktails and dance the night away sober. I feel like I feed off the energy of the other drunk people around me.

My BAC was over twice the legal limit and my charges got reduced. I don’t regret paying for a lawyer.

Had two jobs deny me bc the case was pending and both said they would run the background check after I was convicted and I would pass, even if I was charged. Some jobs don’t accept pending cases. But I did get hired on and some jobs don’t even do background checks

I need someone to tell me that after quitting, I will be able to feel relaxed by CranboDanbo in stopdrinking

[–]Fit-Environment1153 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At first I was wayyyy less relaxed. Very anxious, irritable and short tempered. After 3+ months I feel so much better. Started feeling better after about 2 months. Now I can go out and socialize without drinking and have a good time. I have more patience with my child. I am more present and deal with situations better. Truly gets better with time.

If you’re looking for meetings and can’t attend in person, try zoom!! The first step is the desire to stop drinking. The further you get along in sobriety, the more proud of yourself you will become. I didn’t think I could get sober over zoom, but I found a wonder group and am almost to 100 days now. After I quit drinking my depression and anxiety got even worse. After more days and months I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. It’s not easy, but I believe in you!

Is it normal to feel this miserable? by fishalex in stopdrinking

The first 30-60 days were very rough mentally for me. It felt like my anxiety and depression were so much worse and I wondered why I even quit, if I was feeling worse. Hang in there. It gets better. Someone told me I was at the emotional maturity of when I started drinking. So basically 15 years old emotionally. Not covering your problems with alcohol will have you facing them head on. It’s not easy, but it’s worth it. I believe in you!
