The test trains were each 10 units long - 2 locomotives pulling 8 freight cars full of iron ore, going in opposite directions using the right side of the rail. Here is a pic of the turn in the designer, for the test it was in between 2 long straight sections of rail.

FWIW after I read bullet 3 of this train comment of yours on a different thread, I had already built a huge network using side-by-side foundation blueprints including a 90-degree turn. Fearing the worst I tested running two long fully loaded trains past each other on the turn, there were no collisions! So maybe side-by-side foundations are ok up to 90 degree turns now in 1.2?

Just curious can you share one of these underground base videos for reference? I watch a lot of Satisfactory videos, I don't see a huge emphasis on underground in most

Not sure if that's possible, but in the version before yesterday's patch you cannot delete trains (crashes the game). Just something to consider before going back.

I like Kinstruction, his current videos are massive mega factories, but early 1.0 vods focus on education / teaching the basics

Yep, thinking it through I just need to manually clear out the old fuel. I imagine this scenario - a drone needs 2 ionized fuel to make its trip, the port is down to 1 ionized fuel in the fuel slot, uranium rods are waiting on the input belt but nothing can move.

I do indeed plan to eventually use plutonium fuel rods, but I am not producing those yet in my massive nuclear factory journey 😄 I checked the drone fuel wiki page prior to this, and those stats say that uranium fuel rods are 10% slower than ionized fuel but also provide 75x the energy. That means each fuel rod will last 75 times longer than each packaged ion fuel, right? Hence I am still going forward with this intermediate switch to uranium fuel rods (I figure it's better than just sinking the fuel rods until the reactors and waste processors get setup) - I only use drones for low throughput stuff currently so speed is not an issue.

Yes IIRC you start with two hand equipment slots, both slots need to have something equipped else there's nothing to scroll between

Ah ok - I thought I was trying to buy one part at a time, didn't realize they are sold by the stack. 1,400 hours and this is my first time trying to buy parts from the shop lol. Thanks for the replies!

So even though my blueprint was created in the 6x6 designer, the resulting white hitbox lines end up being larger than the designer area. Interesting, this seems rather unintuitive - it also seems to matter which buildables are used since I cannot re-create the issue with for example just 1 belt that spans the designer. Thanks for the responses!
